In the end, he realized Shelia was the better choice because his girlfriend didn't cook, clean, or take garbage out, BUT JUST WANTED HIS MONEY. SHE was overeating due to trauma and depression ( he was emotionally, verbally, and physically abusive). 💔

I felt uncomfortable watching those scenes with Mike and Sheila, particularly the aeroplane ✈ one. The way he humiliated her and told her to drive through a blizzard was horrible. Even when his friends disapproved of his actions, he said he should have made her walk instead. And showing up with his girlfriend who also happened to be his wife's friend? I'm sorry, but Sheila should have left him to rot when he later revealed he was suffering from cancer. Forgiving him is one thing, but it's not her duty to care for an abusive ex-husband.

They didn't show the best part? When Mike asked what was Troy doing there and he said that "we came to support Patricia" and Mike asks we? And Jill Scott walks out looking beautiful and Mike's mouth drops when he sees her. Troy kisses her and tells her that she looks beautiful! And they leave Mike standing there looking stupid!

The play will always be my favorite version but I do love Jill in this. I cant get into the other couples. Tyler wrote her story beautifully in both versions. Being that in love with a person is scary even more when its the wrong person but feeling complete joy when you wake up when you're with the right one is everything. The word Fat is so degrading. Not exactly an enlightening comment either. The point is to find you someone who you’re compatible with physically and mentally because we are a reflection of the partners we choose to be with. Don’t believe me? Take a look at your couple friends and parents and how they reflect each other… with the story of Mike and Sheila well, you’d have to have seen both movies to understand them more. But they both were codependent on each other in some form. Sheila was emotionally dependent on him for self worth and identification and Mike was physically dependent on her to himself feel good and strong before the added stress that had made her gain the weight due to his ego and pride (again you have to watch part 1&2) so the whole Fat thing isn’t exactly appropriately necessary to say. You gotta be mindful of who you choose to be with because ultimately who you are is exactly who you’re going to attract.

I remember as an early adult, I cried every single time Sheila did and for the same reasons. I truly understood what she felt when everything that was done to her was done to me. I'm going to give this a real world spin. How Mike treated her is horrible but how long do you think it took her to get that way and im sure he would've been like Troy in the beginning "babe lets go to the gym together." Its a movie and TP has given it a happy ending but the Troy doesn't always come along and its important to love and look after yourself ALWAYS.
