it's not just that stiles is missing. his friendship with scott is missing. and that was a huge part of the show. these two weren't just best friends, they were brothers. and yet they went their separate ways. it's sad to think about. and even sadder to see. that's one of the reasons i still haven't watched the movie

it’s not just dylan and how good his performance is, it’s the importance of stiles’ character to the show and the direction. scott is awesome and tyler does a great job but the (movie’s) story primarily sucked. and the seasons without stiles have been weaker. because it’s a different feeling and vibe without stiles. (and dylan’s energy)

Dylan's own words "it felt rushed".....That is the nice way of saying it was a crap script without burning bridges for future jobs. The rumors that have come out are that there was only an outline of a script with most of it all made up on the fly on set. Jeff and others thinking the nogitsune being the best villain F@ckd up in thinking it was the double in the wraps and jacket when in fact it was Dylan's stellar acting and the tragedy of Stiles being possessed.

Crystal Reed was the one that surprised me. I thought she left to pursue for major film roles and didn't want to be associated with the franchise again. Maybe the difference is, Dylan's career took off with his other roles. Not trying to be mean, just real.

I'll be the first to admit Dylan O'Brien is the best actor on Teen Wolf but the point still stands... The show's not about him... It was always and will be about a teenage werewolf. Whether that's Scott or now Derek's son... That's just the way it is. Dylan has moved on from it and it's time for others to do the same. Let those who enjoy it continue to enjoy it and move on if you hate it just because Dylan wasn't in it...

I was disapointed in the movie, honestly.. and im a hardcore fan! It seemed like the characters had all forgot their abilities and connection to each other that was built up over such a long time. I wanted to see Lydia's bad ass banshee powers being used ! And I expected Scotts True Alfa powers to be on an insane level so many years later.. and the only difference I noticed was that he made Dericks son become a wolf from a look and a growl! Why did they all just lose all sense of self powers and they didnt learn anything from their situations in the series. Derick was meant to be all one with himself now since he was reborn into his wolf form the same way his mother was. And the story of his son being afraid of him and thats why he was afraid to change in front of him was so silly. Kinda interesting that they left the mothers identitiy as questionable though. And where do I even begin with Alison.. as much as I love that she's back, her being controlled by the Nogitsune (and her dad) and Alison trying to kill Scott.. to Scott telling her the truth and she remembers everything.. it all happened to quickly to make any sense.. and didnt have anywhere near enough fear for the audience. And it devalued the Nogitsune! When we saw it take over Stiles.. they played this over several episodes and it got so dark and so powerful.. that they really did an injustice on it by introducing it again in this movie! To be honest, they should have gone with a completely new villain. The Oni was also badly represented, as you didnt feel the same fear as in the series.. when they would appear out of the shadows and draw their swords.. and do the stare until the person collapses and the mark is represented behind the ear when it was being controlled by Kiras mother Mrs Yukimura. Then later the scary scene when the Oni is being controlled by the Nogitsune and they appear in the hospital and start chopping people up with their swords further makes you fearful of these things.. and of course they killed Alison. So to see the Oni in the movie in this way, they didnt look at all frightening. And then theres stiles.. Why would they break up Stiles and Lydia like that?? After it took the whole 6 series for them to finally get together and it surely seemed theyd get married, have kids etc. And saying that Stiles is so busy with work to come and save literally everyone he loves in his life!! Is not a very convincing story! You'd be best off saying he was abducted. Its so sad that they couldnt get this movie right.. and quite frankly I just cant add this story to the followup of the series, its more like a bad dream

I Hope Stiles comes back for the sequel and now they don’t have to rush the script( it was still a good movie in my opinion,just could’ve been better)we could have an amazing sequel,or possibly 2 amazing sequels with the whole cast

This is so nice that they got this interview. I really love how close dylan and tyler are and how they respect another, but he is absolutely right for doing this without his presence in the film because even if the show started with the two, its still about scott, and the other characters around him

I enjoyed the movie it was great seeing the gang back in beacon hills, that said the movie felt rushed as all hell, it could have been so much better had they taken the time needed, instead of trying rush and have the same premiere date to another unrelated werewolf show made by the same guy, that ppl still don't understand IS NOT a spin off... I think, had the two things been kept separate both would have done better on thier own.

this gives the same energy as when tyler posey made comments about how sterek was sick and twisted and if fans are watching because of it they're watching for the wrong reasons... mainly because when that interview came out, people were like, "mans is just sick of the spotlight being taken off of him" sorry your acting isn't compelling enough to keep people always talking about you

It’s not about Dylan it’s about his character stiles. They even could of said that Lydia and stiles had a kid but stiles was to busy with an important assignment and haven’t been seen in years but Lydia went back to to help out the gang with stiles mini me. Or at lest had more background with why stiles wasn’t there. They couldn’t even but stiles in the flashback that Alison had. Don’t get my wrong I did like the movie but it seem like they didn’t really have a strong storyline

I don't know if it's just me but the fans rarely give him credit for the show, like I barely see people respect him, it's always stiles that get the respect when it's Scott that's the key to the show, like give him the credit he's the reason stiles is the way he is in the show.

i too am hardcore teen wolf fan and was extremely disappointed with the movie, however, looking at the comments breaks my heart :/ we love stiles and dylan. stiles is such an important character and no one is denying that but dylan did not want to come back lol. It was his choice and like tyler said, we still love him and that’s okay. of course the confirmed movie was still going to go on even after dylan and arden said no. i do think jeff should’ve done better and changed the entire plot so that it wouldn’t have been based on the season where literally stiles and kira were the main characters. Nonetheless i don’t think it’s right to discredit tyler’s work or scott as a character just because stiles didn’t show up. Everything tyler said in this interview was valid. If the teen wolf franchise chooses to go on and dylan doesn’t want to be on it, it’s still going to continue without him and you can’t expect the production to just stop otherwise.

I love their friendship, and love Tyler's personality to death, however I do think Stiles was a huge part of the show, I always thought it was the best character, the one who brought comedy and the one who f**king stole it on season 3. I haven't seen the movie, don't know if I will watch it, but for me, Stiles is essential to the show, for sure.

I respect all the hard work put into the movie. However it did feel rushed and the storyline seemed like it wasn't thoroughly thought through. It was great to see so many familiar faces and new faces. The way the were brought into the story is what I found a problem with. Firstly, I found it such a shame that Allison was brought back and that she was such a large part of the storyline, especially when the series is so full of her commemoration, to the point that Crystal Reed even returned to play her ancestor, which was awesome and so well put together. It was a great ending and her story as a part of teen wolf should have ended there, or they could've have chosen to continue with that commemoration. Or otherwise brought her back in a manner that made more sense, not just for the sake of having a shocking reveal. Additionally, the Nogitsune was one of the top villains throughout the teen wolf series. So for it to be brought back, it should have been more cunning, it should have been ready to take on Scott's pack, and full of vengeance. But it was defeated so easily that it lost its flare. Additionally the relationship between the Nogitsune and Allison, should have been explored more if that was the case. Also there was so much missing information. Like how Argent got infected by the Nogitsune and how Deaton knew so much about it. The new characters deserved a better introduction. The fact that Scott was allowed to play lacrosse at his grown age just because it was coach Finstock in charge was possible, but the way it was executed was just poor. And these are just scratch the surface type things. It's regretfully one of the most disappointing movies I've ever seen, and it's sad because of how beloved and fantastically executed the series is. So again, all my respect to those who put their time and effort into this movie, but its severely disappointing.

I watched the movie and I literally had a feeling that something wasn't right until I noticed that we were missing a person with a very noticeable face which was Stiles. I reckon we petition for his return.

I get that Tyler was the main character but I only watched the show because of Dylan O’Brien lol. And stiles was everyone I knows favorite character.

What you aren’t mentioning is his success. Dylan is now a movie star and making top billing. His fees are set by his agent, his schedule is busy, and sometimes you can’t just do every project.

He was just as important to the show as Dylan was whether you like Tyler or the character of Scott or not. There would be no show without him in termed of it being called teen wolf and he’s the wolf that was a teen lol. All I'm hearing from the fandom is the movie sucked and disrespected the previous tv show and all the growth which im not surprised about. They rebooted the franchise for the subscription bait in the war of streaming platforms. Also it wasn't just about Scott. Sure he is the werewolf. But stiles was by his side every step of the way. They were both the main character. If they wanted to reboot it they should have done a clean slate. Pay proper homage to those who came before but it should be new. Plus. Honestly, I've been watching thru the series for the first time, and I'm about to finish Season 2. It's really good. I never watched it till now cuz I saw some trailers back when it was airing and didn't think it looked all that great, but then the movie came out and I was like, ooook, I'll actually give the series a watch. And I'm glad I'm finally doing that cuz it's really good. The dynamic between Stiles and Scott is awesome. Stiles is my favorite character lol. He's hilarious.

It's like Nicholas Cage in that movie he did last year I forget the name "I always thought of it as a job" and "it's just acting" lol a lot of people build it up into this crazy big complex career because the pay is so good, but it really is is like a freelancer job that pays a shit load.

First I want to say thank you for giving us more Teen Wolf! While I would have loved to see Stiles that isn't my complaint about the movie. My biggest complaint is that it was too short. I like the longer form of the TV show. It felt really rushed and it was hard to piece together the backstory of why he hadn't been back at all. Like it seems like between the end of the last episode and the beginning of this new movie the whole pack fell apart. I get that romantic relationships changed and that's okay. It was just kind of jarring that at the end of the series it seemed like they were all coming together and like they were going to be building the pack and saving people. Just maybe not in Beacon Falls. Which I mean yes they showed Scott saving a little girl at the beginning of the movie but it was by himself. We got a little bit of backstory on why Derrick's son might be afraid of the Wolf transformation. Unfortunately there just wasn't enough time in the movie for us to get all the backstory we need for the interim years.

Not gonna lie I was hoping the movie would be a war between the hunters and werewolves and then either Scott and the gang win, or they could lose to set up another movie. Or maybe they could add some new supernatural race that they have to fight against maybe not vampires as that would maybe be a bit to repetiv.

I used to watch the first few seasons and I said ever episode to my brother Dylan O'Brien is the only good actor on this show. Should have been the lead. He's gone on to act in big movies and can't really blame him.

They can keep making a 2 hour monthly series

I was so disappointed with the movie and felt so disheartened by the cast, producers & Director because off how rushed the storyline felt and the plot with Alison didn’t make sense at all, it was a good try I’ll give em that but the whole point off Alison’s character dying was to strengthen the pack even more. Yes with Dylan gone it didn’t feel the same but that only makes me respect him even more by not choosing to do the movie as an actor myself you have to my so many sacrifices with scripts, and Dylan definitely made the right choice even tho it would’ve been so iconic too see Stiles in the movie cause he was such a beloved character Dylan’s career has taken off to a whole new level and I think by him doing the movie would’ve damaged his career cause us as fans would only assioate him as Stiles.

I think he actually made a good decision not doing the movie (because honestly it was a bad movie). Same with Arden Cho, who would have only been paid half what the other actors were (which infuriates me). But it’s true, Stiles stole the show for a lot of people and it’s really about Scott Edit: I expecting him to scream “I AM THE ALPHA AND I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE ALPHA” at some point

I am watching new Jeff Davis' show called Wolf Pack and It is quite interesting it has a different vibe compared to Teen Wolf

I liked watching the movie because it was something new something fresh I haven't seen and it took me back into the world of teen wolf which I missed...but to be honest the movie sucked I get it's hard to cover details and so much in something designed for a show. But everything felt rushed I felt like I was watching it at 1.5 speed they would bring up a conflict then just either resolve it or have us assume what happened and put us in the next conflict..and putting the teacher as the bad guy I get putting a familiar face to the show but I hated that. I thought it was dumb he was back and just disappeared till the end. Everything was so sloppy and fast pace.

Dylan and Tyler is like Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. They can definitely keep going, but it won't feel like it used to.

There’s a feeling I get of him being “genuinely uncomfortable and annoyed that Dylan left and that he has to talk about it and that whatever happened personally hurt his feelings but u know what fuck that and the haters this has brought me huge success imma carry it it I die” kind of thing. unfortunately though most actors who stick with something because of success instead of examining if it’s of quality have been known to fall once the show or movies are inevitably hated. U have to diversify and really make sure is the story going in the direction with a story and purpose in mind before you blindly commit. I mean look at walking dead. If breaking bad continued for as long as teen wolf or WD it wouldn’t have been NEARLY as successful.
