Thomas Cogger early young Elvis was a White kid hip enough to be into black culture. He kicked open the door for black music to be heard in a much broader scale. There’d never have been the British Invasion had it not been for British kids who first heard Elvis singing black music which then turned them on to black music and artist. Post military movie/las Vegas Elvis was lame, but young raw Elvis kicked it which is why he rose to cult fame.in those days you could hear black music on white radio. Nope. Not only is his audience up for anything, remember Dave is the guy who had Stupid Pet Tricks & books really offensive bands & comics since back in the day. Letterman in the 80's & 90's was WAY odder than Odd Future ever was.
@Elduderino19995 жыл бұрын
Not as scared as when they did Sandwiches on Fallon

Eric Patrick the audience actually like it during Sandwiches. Surprisingly.
@nicolasviaje71595 жыл бұрын
There's no rich people there. It's free. Also, Odd Future is tame compared to other bands who were regulars on Dave's show. Dave probably loved that.

Triston Larson yeah exactly what other national talk show host wouod have guys like zappa, beefheart, and other guys back in the early 80s
@TonyisToking5 жыл бұрын
Triston Larson He’s a smart man. He knew his audience well. That’s all that matters when you’re trying to produce media with high ratings. And he just does a good job of having fun with it. Regardless of the intention, I’m sure it opened a few ears, especially considering the track they chose to perform. I feel like the lyrics on Rusty are very digestible to someone not into rap. Also, really important for people like that to hear.

I wish these 3 would do an album together, they're so well balanced. Earl's technique as a rapper is amazing. Tyler's vision and ideas are awesome and Domo brings a chill factor to even everything out.

@clementecalandra88048 жыл бұрын
***** yeah you are kinda right but still this performance was pretty dope. letterman needed something like this and also, i checked out the top 10 musical guests on letterman and tyler was there (with this live)
@tingtang93028 жыл бұрын
+Charlie Walker nah letterman had a lot of great musical acts on over the years interspersed with the usual network-label-required-handshake glitz. he is a huge tom waits fan and had him on several times, for example. anywho it was definitely not a weird thing for great alternative acts to show up on letterman.
