Yorick is most useless laner in the game. Pretty much every top laner hard stomps him and when he gets 6 just ping ur jg to come and kill the maiden and game over. He needs to be reworked. Illaoi is cancer from level 1 to 18 and it doesn't really matter how much gold you have if you hit your E and have passive and ult with you you will win the fight.

You don’t ever have to walk near tentacles tbh, even her E you have to walk into her range with no minions and not dodge it. Her ult you can just walk out of (nobody ever will of course, everyone just sits in it). Even if tentacles are spawning by you, the slams can be dodged. At least Illaoi E is dodgable. The yorick spell that gets his minions to jump on him has a really fast cast and is harder to dodge. He gets the turret to half hp without auto attacking it once. If you dodge Illaoi E you win the trade. If you dodge Yorick spell he still has his maiden the whole time. I think it's braindead to be watching a video of the match up and think the two champions are the same. While Illaoi E does a lot of damage at least you can run out of it. If yorick lands slow -> cage you're dead. There's not any counterplay to that except flashing out. Lands two spells and you die does not sound fun and interactive to play against especially when one of them is a slow that helps land the followup spell. This is why the game is stupid to play nowadays.

Yorick is hard countered by any champs that dodge auto attacks or can escape his W bc hit makes it hard for him to hit E, and his minions always die to a single auto attack. Illaoi doesnt attack fast enough and his E straight counters her E. Basically playing Illaoi into Yorick (One of her worst counters) and complaining about him countering her is like playing Yorick into Irelia and complaining about her countering him. You just cant play them into their counters like that

I agree, playing champ into a direct counter and whinging about the counter being aids is a wee smooth-brained if you choose to play the matchup. However, even champs that counter Yorick, like Riven, where it's quite favorable for Riven, I still find Yorick to just be super aids to play against. I hate having to auto every ghoul with them perma locking onto me instead of being able to kill them with a couple abilities. Like I don't think you should be able to 1shot them with abilities like Malz minions, but I don't think they should be so invulnerable to abilities either.@@gamergilbert4438

So this match-up is heavily reliant on you ''as yorick'' dodging every stuns that irelia tries to land on you.

I've sent her 0-4 on Renekton in first 10 minutes and I still started roaming cause once she had gauntlet i knew I would struggle. It is hard to click and he is a menace in lane, but his ghouls makes it impossible for him to do anything but push the wave so he is easily punished if your jungler isn't trolling and once he is behind he is useless until lategame

yea the destructible cage seems like s good idea design wise, until you realise yorick is gonna jump on u with 4 ghouls making it night impossible to destroy, but then again only mages and a select few toplaners suffer from this so it doesnt matter that much

This is months old but yorick is half a champ without maiden. He can't do shit till 6 as long as you pay attention to his graves and hit his ghouls first. They die in one auto. If he doesn't have maiden he can only get one ghoul per kill and pre 6 his Q CD is decently long and takes a bit of mana. Most of yoricks damage comes from hitting the same target maiden hits. Tibbers does damage on his own, maiden does almost nothing. And maiden can't be controlled, if you attack someone, it will run at them until you get decently far away. So if you take a bad trade, bye bye maiden, you are now worthless till ult is back. Anyone with a dash can escape his W, or anyone with decently fast AA speed can escape too if they aren't behind and will just survive your all in. His cooldown doesn't start until maiden dies and its like 2 min CD. He's annoying like illaoi or trundle - they just split push. Except yorick sucks in team fights, which is why he's the best split pusher in the game. It's all he can do, and without maiden, anyone with decently healing can kill him, and in a 2v1, yorick almost never wins. And yorick doesn't really get a ban, since any sane yorick will ban Irelia, because Irelia vs yorick is the worst matchup in the entire game. Irelia literally benefits massively from yorick's entire kit, basically giving her nearly 100% up time on her own passive. And on top of all of that, yorick's E is actually stupid easy to dodge if you pay attention and it has a bad hitbox where even though it hits visually it won't actually.
