I sat down one day, for 4 hours straight and wrote 120 pages. It's not that hard. The script was shit but I'm finished, I've edited it now and I'm happy with it. Don't spend hundreds on a course if you can just finish it in one day like me
@franjes99993 жыл бұрын
I finished my first script in a month whilst studying at Uni my second has been a bit more of a struggle but I haven't had as much free time to try and finish it but also I'm just struggling more with the narrative of it but even still that's only been 5 months how people fail to make any progress for years baffles me it's more about persistence than anything else

This is an important lesson. It sounds like you're a writer. Writers write. The course is for non-writers. It's not a "how-to write better course". He gives that away for FREE in his videos. I wish you success in being a writer.
@TheRelevantUnknown3 жыл бұрын
@@franjes9999 Many successful screenwriters, authors, etc. are in writing groups. Athletes pay for private coaches. CEOs have business coaches. This course is overpriced for only two reasons: you don't go through it or you don't ever write anything.

I have a concept It's a skit about a fictional talent show for movie writers In that show a bunch of upcoming movie writers write scripts and narrate to judges and the winner is the person who successfully impress judges with their script You can generate humour from this setup I think I don't know If you think this concept is good turn it into a short film/skit
@gabinmarignier3 жыл бұрын
Nice sales video! How did you learn copywriting?
@dviproductions34933 жыл бұрын
For me the best thing to do was to just start off small and simple. I started just writing, shooting and editing really short skits, about 1/2 a page long to a full page. Then I wrote short film scripts just a couple pages long (shooting and editing them as well), making sure to keep it all as simple as possible. Right now I've finished writing a 20 page short film script, and I'm really proud of it, and will continue writing in the future. Just having all these small things finished are really satisfying, since I know I'm making progress, rather than starting one big project right from the get go and never finishing it.

I JUST FINISHED MY FIRST FEATURE LENGTH SCREENPLAY! I'm on draft 2. I started screenwriting a year ago. Wrote about 20 shorts. Finally decided to make the push to feature length about a month ago. Had the story in my head. Banged out draft one in ten days. This channel helped me learn a system that works for me (philosophical conflict and story circle). I'll move on to another feature length screenplay maybe this summer.

So the video you linked was kinda helpful. It was quite long and I appreciate the low price offer, but firstly I couldn't navigate your website. The enrol button disappeared after I tryed to pause the video and I also couldn't move back or bmforth through the video. Also my main problem, and perhaps this is perfectionism is that I like to have a clear working world to write my story in. However as I write my story it just reaks down my world into a billion pieces. Your course as far as I can tell is about sitting and writing. Which to be honest I don't have a problem with, I write all the time. My problem is making sure my story makes sense and works. I don't know how I'm meant to write the end of a story when the start and middle can't even be defined as a story. Finally what is the age limit of your course? Ho old do u have to be?

Hey Tyler! Thank you for your in-depth series about the fundamentals of screenwriting. Just a heads up, I clicked on your link and there is a small typo "5, *20*, even 15 pages..." the old theme. write drunk, edit sober. we have 2 sides to creativity. the rushed and the eased. during the day, you can get many different interruptions. at night, chances are you get silence. this is where the creativity flows. pay attention to that one more than the rushed day person. remember, readers want to be captivated. they read to escape. your creativity is your mind escaping from the stress of the daytime. this is the released Hyde persona. not the dr. Jekyll who is studied. we edit with a cold harsh mind. try to balance them. never erase. its just digital. you're not saving a tree. write on and let slip the dogs of war!

New concept: Universe:5018 Back story part: (This story takes in a parallel universe) In the distant future : A cosmic wave is going to hit earth so people decide to send those cosmic waves into the past they created a vortex with advanced machines and they successfully send those waves into the past those waves traveled into the past Past Past : This is the first year where Britishers took over india and one teenager was so angry at Britishers because one of them killed his parents so took a trident made of iron and started killing those who killed his parents one of them is running away those cosmic waves came into past and hit that teenagers trident and through him the cosmic energy was spread all over india and also that teenager got powers now and also that trident is planted on the ground and the excessive cosmic powers spread by him all over India and that teenager who got his powers from that cosmic wave from future that teenager just killed every single Britisher in India who also got powers because of the cosmic wave Present:the descendants of those indians who gained powers on that day (when cosmic waves from future came to past gave powers to all indians) turned india into a utopia filled people with power india technologically advanced fast so indians started colonizing space because of that wars with hostile alien civilizations started happening How that wars went down is the concept

The video for his course sounds like a scam. It's like an hour long and can't be skipped or jumped around. He mentions that this will work for you if you have low motivation or low self esteem, like he is preying on inexperienced writers. He could have given all this for free on KZfaq, maybe make a patreon, but I think he's just taking your money. I'm not paying $300 for a 7 hour course and to join a Facebook group. The whole point of the video is to write even if it is bad and don't get distracted. Because working even on a bad story will make you a better writer. Which is true. But you don't need his magic course to do that you just need a community to support you and keep you writing.
