Thanks this is really helpful; are Network Covalent Solids Polar or non etc? What is their electronegativity range?

We typically reserve the words "polar" and "nonpolar" to describe molecules (molecular compounds) rather than network covalent solids. This is because samples of network covalent solids do not contain millions of discrete individual molecules (like a sample of water), but rather the entire sample contains very strong covalent bonds throughout the entire sample, which make them difficult to break: thus network covalent solids have a very high melting point and do not dissolve in neither polar nor nonpolar solvents. If you are asking about whether the bonds are polar or nonpolar, you'd have to consider the individual substances. For instance, if you look at a lot of the known network covalent solids, like carbon as diamond or graphite, these are very strong covalent bonds between two atoms of the same electronegativity, and thus these would be nonpolar bonds!
