This is one of the best videos I've ever seen. Seeing typhoons flying close up is stunning enough but there's something truly artistic and mesmerising about how they seem to be living things being filmed in their natural environment. It's the music but also that you seem to be watching them interact with the film crew on the tail ramp. Great stuff.

John O The Hercules stall speed is higher than the typhoon. In other words the the typhoon can fly slower (when configured) than the Hercules.

EinkOLED. I was just being facetious, but may I ask your source on that? My data has C-130 stall at 185km/h and Typhoon at 203 km/h...I have been known to be wrong on occasion, actually just once but I was 3 at the time ;)

John O correct but wrong, while these stall speeds reffer to sea level, at this altitude the stall speed of the typhoon is nearly 300knots due to thin air and small wings

You can get this kind of footage of wild Typhoons in autumn and winter, but spring is nesting season for delta canards and the Typhoon will defend its nest aggressively to protect its chicks. Then it's safer to get footage of the Rafale, which is a brood parasite and lays its eggs in unattended Gripen nests.

Yes, I noticed. The Angel Interceptor had a very high tail plane, though... but for a fictional fighter jet it was strangely very close to our later reality. Did you also notice that they launched from basically a flying aircraft carrier (Skybase One, I think). Decades before SHEILD had one!

Beautiful! Presumably the Typhoons come from below the herc to avoid the slipsteam. More than birds it reminds me of dolphins playing and surfacing in the wake of a boat. Still, excellent choice of music to accompany the stunning footage. Can you tell us what your brother was filming for and when and where we might see the end result?

Why do all the americans commenting on here take it for granted that the camera plane is a Hercules? Strangely enough there a lots of cargo aircraft with rear opening ramps. The one featured her is actually an Airbus A400M, an aircraft developed and built in Europe, which thank goodness is not part of the usa.
