She needs to get every single girl in existence that is still living that has ever attempted at top model, get them in an auditorium and individually cut every girl a check and turn over every penny she has ever earned over to these victims for exploiting them. She does not deserve anything as she abused her position and allowed herself to claim that it’s beyond her control and never call out or speak out against Ken Mok or these evil wicked investors for their crimes against every contestant. This is extremely dark deception and the show was 100% fraudulent incarnate. We don’t care about her child hood. We don’t care what she thinks she claims she earned. So yes Felix she did wanna be like Naomi for quite some time. That pretty much just shows you that Naomi Campbell truly set the standard for being a hard-working supermodel and she truly did lay the foundation for that. Without legendary models like Naomi Campbell Tyra's entire career in the industry would never exist. Point, Blank, Period. 👑💖

@UCyNZlvZ3MhuIpOrXHGTNK8w That’s not true. Naomi has never done any empire. Naomi has followed Tyra’s footsteps with so many things. The reality shows like the face was something she created after ANTM. There is this mini series about Black Models “Supreme Models” in which even Iman, Veronica Webb, Joan Smalls, among others said in the documentary that Tyra Banks is the one who did it better. Yes I understand Naomi is a really important figure for dark skin people but come on! Don’t try to bash Tyra. I knew Tyra way before Naomi and I know Naomi was there before but Tyra def put the fashion industry into the masses. Naomi couldn’t. Tyra had her own talk show 15 years ago and then Naomi had her own KZfaq channel. All your facts are a joke. Tyra has way more money than Naomi anyways. She worths way more.

Nor will you ever have the longevity and impact that Naomi has to this very day. So why not just calm down with the burner accounts and actually go and apologize to every single girl you bullied and traumatized on your shows. ☺️

Naomi is incredibly insecure which is why she lashes out at Tyra, at Nicole Trunfio, at assistants. She felt threatened by another black supermodel because in many shows back then - very few black models were cast with the exception of YSL.

Has everyone forgotten the reputation of Naomi in the industry? Remember the accusations of her throwing something at her maid in NY whom she accused of stealing something from her? Didn’t she had to do some community hours? And Naomi did say on her own TV show to a contestant YOU WILL NEVER BE ME etc…I believe there is a little truth to what Tyra said. I think that both women were misunderstood because they had to fight in the industry of modeling to make it to the top and as such be labeled “mean” or “angry” black women. And the tabloids did pitch them against each other as they STILL do it today with female rappers Nicki vs Cardi B vs Meghan the Stallion or Doja Cat check her “Woma” lyrics.

Right. Also, I believe people forget how poorly Black models were treated back then. Tyra and Naomi were made to feel like they were competing for the token Black girl position. @@brielax4441 Exactly, not to forget that people in the US liked to hate on Tyra. Wasn’t she labeled a gold digger because she dated or went on a date with Tigger Wood or John Singleton? I think all that made her want to succeed as a business woman. And to those who say Tyra has to apologize to Yaya etc…because she “exploited” the models well you live in a “capitalist” society! Yaya got opportunity just like Eva Marcel etc. Maybe the same people should go to the producer of Growing up Hip Hop or RHOA etc…

There were always people who found the behavior on Top Model problematic. There's always been people who did not like bullying and cruelty. It's just that now we can connect with one another much easier due to social media. More people are standing up instead of just watching one or two people fighting against abuse. More people now have the courage to speak up and out. Also there was a chat page dedicated to Top Model online back then and when you read through the comments you would see people calling Tyra, the other judges and certain cast members out when they were being abusive and cruel.

She seemed to like shocking people to an unhealthy degree and manipulating their emotions. It was exploitative. I don’t know how much she’s grown since then but I haven’t seen anything to prove she has. I hope she has a desire to heal some of the pain she’s caused people on her way to the top. Not just because Tyra was a “reformed mean girl” in high school, but because in the fashion industry they often pit the Blk female models against each other, and tell them that there can only be one at the top. The cattiness and jealousy were manufactured and Tyra should have known better and not fed into it.

The other judges and even the producers of the show were blatantly racist and targeted the black girls and eliminated them for literally no reason. There were some absolutely gorgeous black girls and they were thrown off just because they were black and secure about who they were. Banks always had a smart head on her shoulders, but from what I gleaned from this awesome video is that she was very vindictive and stubborn. If she was trying to make a point with the aspiring models, it wasn't vetted through a group that wasn't sycophantic to her. She's very successful that she can start ventures on her own. Is she smart and beautiful? Yes. Is she a good bet to invest in? Yes. Is she suceptible to making mistakes? Yes. My wife and I personally gave up on Dancing with the Stars. She is far cry from the original host. She is not a bad person at all, but good grief, she needs someone brave and tougher than her to tell her, "No... that's a stupid and terrible idea."

I think Karl Lagerfeld clowned the show years ago and while I’m not for gatekeeping I think he did have a point. A lot of the modeling agencies didn’t really take that show or the contestants seriously and a handful of them had successful careers outside of America. She definitely wasn’t Naomi level supermodel. I think she got big being a Victoria secret model
@waterbearer4627
@waterbearer4627 Жыл бұрын
@@ComaLies225 Yeah Karl would know being in the industry for decades. Her show was really flawed. In reality the hardest part for the model is the 'go sees' aka casting calls. Showing her book and usually the person (client or representative) will say thank you after looking at it. You rarely get rejected at the casting call flat out. That is considered unprofessional. But the model will not know if she has been accepted either for that client. And it can be draining the uncertainty. Models are never directly pitted against each other at casting calls. They are seen one at a time. What tyra did was pit the girls directly against each other for her approval and to 'win'. They had to complete 'unrealistic challenges'. It was a farce, a complete joke. She lost all credibility as a model or mentor who had knowledge of the industry. As far as her modelling career, she went into acting (fresh prince), presenting and courting the media to become relevant and a celebrity. Her profile in fashion had sunk so she wasn't seen in high fashion layouts or runways like the true golden era of supermodels 1990 till 1998. She is the 'media model' like hiedi Klum mostly know for swimsuits pictures. Heidi who did very little modelling work too. Both turned themselves into celebrities in order to get work.

Naomi is notoriously cruel to her assistants. This has been well documented in court cases. Its not a stretch to believe she saw Tyra as a threat and lashed out at her. I believe Tyra is telling the truth about her experience. I also believe Tyra was honestly preparing her contestants for real world experiences. The industry is (allegedly) very misogynistic and cruel and it appears as though Tyra was giving them a master class in potential situations they needed to be ready for. Did things get out of hand sometimes? I don't know. I wasn't there. Sounds like Naomi was nice and was actually NOT preparing the contestants for the real world... that would be less competition for her, and she obviously doesn't like competition, lol.

No Drama but it's called Tokenism You single out one person and then there's only so much work for that role . not many British models made the cover of Elle on 1987 so for a blk girl from South London of Jamaican heritage we could really use the good rep and bask in the glory.The moment Naomi becomes problematic nobody wants to hire Jamaican girl

I saw the label of the video in passing, and I stopped to say that Tyra Banks is not actually hated at all.

I remember watching Top Model with my daughters we watched every episode... Especially when that one girl broke her ankle with those tall shoes on. Time goes by so fast. I didn't know til a while later that she sold her rights to that show.
