The Tau are structured on their logic and idea that all sentient races should deep down want to just live life so seeing a race that entirely exists for war naturally throws them off. As a tau player myself i actually really enjoy these snippets of what they think when they see this.

@@Brutalyte616 You will find that most brainwash/cult indoctrination victims display an in ability to entertain other world views without believing them. Like i also have the same fear of death that pushes many people into religion, and i can see and understand how that thought process would happen, and can respect people who come to that conclusion without having to believe what they do. As a contrast, many heavily religious people show a lacing of understanding towards other religions aswell as atheism, they will opening talk how they "cannot comprehend how someone could beileve the nonsense in that book of lies" while at the same time holding a bible/koran. Its the utter belief that oneself is correct and there is no other path worth considering, the mark of the ignorant to some, the mark of the peity to others. In my view ( and yes im am completely open to being swayed, i will admit the blueberrys are not my forte in lore ) it is yet more proof they are religious zealots kept in check my heavy forms of indoctrination by their psychic cast.

I hear that. I have a Trygon I use as a prime. Well, when I get to play them. Not often and not recently. But I do want two more. One as a mawloc and a standard Trygon. They are just soooo cool. :)

@@baldermort I have yet to try them in 9th edition because *gestures to the world* but with the lowering of the cost for Devigants I'm looking forward to bringing back the Devi-bomb from earlier editions given that I have a stupid number of Devourer equipped Gaunts ready and willing to get in some tunnels :-p

Also Hive Fleet Hellhound is adapted to a lava world so modeling Trygon and Mawlocs bursting through lava is especially fun (Not happy with my first attempt but I have 2 more tries...)

@@James-sk4db maybe aesthetic wise a little, the suits In Starship Troopers are described as metal gorillas with atomic rocket launchers on their backs and require training but not genetic modification to use. And definitely not philosophy-wise, they're still freedom of religion and speech and humans get along with aliens besides the bugs. I'm referring to the book which is superior to the movie in every way.

Lasgun and plasteel are both used liberally in the original Dune novel.

The tau are a dramatic story of good intentions going bad in a universe that doesn't allow for good intentions. Which is why i like them. They are an alrternate view point. I just hope that (if they last that long and thats a bif if) they dont become a carbon copy of the imperium. Though i guess thats what the enclaves are there to avoid.

Nah space marines stay with the imperium and would never go to tau becuase they are built for war and only living for war which the tau aren't. That being said if war of secrets is anything to go by / is canon (i never know if books are canon in 40k) the Tau may start fielding their own Space marine equivalents.
