As far as I have understood, the Zoanthropes are the Weirdboyz of the 'Nids. Channeling warp energy atuned to the Hive Mind, like Weirdboyz who channel warp energy atuned to the WAAAGH! The Powers of Faith may just be similar to the WAAAGH! powers of the Weirdboyz, collective psychic might formed from indomitable faith instead of being ORKY or a swarm of space locusts. But in regards to the Pariah Nexus "Faith is no warp power" shebang... Yeah, what they did there was probably the writers f***up. Before that, Faith was just a "pure" form of warp power, similar to the Aeldari, as for example, the Cadian Empyrial Containment Pylon Array disabled even Saint Celestine's powers to the point of being a regular mortal again... There is just some fluff that you can disregard as a writer fu**up. *cough C.S. Goto cough*

That is the philosophy of the 40 k universe.. if you can make something bad, worse..than by the emperor make it, and if the horrific result can be made even more horrific, well same as the first, and so on and so on.

I think that was explicitly said in previous editions: they channel the power of the Hive Mind. Since the Hive Mind has a clear presence in the Warp (in the form of the Shadow of the Warp), it's likely that it's really the Shadow of the Warp that they're channeling, but this is essentially the warp manifestation of the Hive Mind. Essentially, the Hive Mind behaves like a god in the Warp just like the Chaos Gods, the Astronomicon, and the Aeldari gods prior to the Fall. Which is compatible with GW's prior fluff on psykers, and on magic-users in Fantasy. The 'typical' psyker or wizard draws on the energies of the Warp or the Winds of Magic directly, but it's also possible to draw on the energies of entities within the Immaterium. The disciplines associated with the Chaos Gods are the clearest example of this, but it's also always been the explanation for powers that come from faith. The faith-based powers of the Sisters of Battle, therefore, probably have this justification - it's just that the Imperium doesn't seem to have as much understanding of the various forms of psychic abilities as the Colleges of Magic did in Fantasy, so unlike Fantasy, there's no human in the Imperium that truly understands how psychic abilities work (maybe Inquisitor Czevak if anyone does). The Aeldari probably do, but unlike Teclis in Fantasy, the Aeldari aren't sharing.

On one hand, the Ecchlesiarchy has been preaching for five thousand years that the God-Emperor made nine angels to fight against the nine demons from hell, but on the other we have the Inquisition commit genocide to keep that particular secret a "secret" just a few centuries ago.

They’re hit and miss. Like why inv save. I’ve sat in front of 2 shadowswords takimg their fire for 2 rounds. Other times they’ve gone out to lasguns. Intensely funny. ;).

@@baldermort yea thats the thing with 40k lore sadly- too many writers at once and all of a sudden some idiot who hasnt read almost anything about the lore makes up his own stuff and screws up everything. I think in the end its up to your own headcanon.

Sandbags can depend on the realism. I know someone that uses fabric bags filled with rice. She stitched them as individual bags as well as sausage links and a brick/wall pattern with gaps in between so that she can change them around depending on the terrain. Thanks brother. Aye, I thought the same for ages about their psykers being like orcs. So it’s a jab at GW for being messy. They flip flop on this kind of thing a lot and I am not a fan of that. They just need to sort out their metaphysics, give a copy of their rules to writers and then EDIT! Something they seem incompetent at doing. Utterly.
