the genius of ug is that he makes u think with a deep heart about the human condition and that is greater than practicing meditation. At least u got out from depression momentary. sometimes u got a glimpse of human mind. Although mind cannot get a glimpse of itself or get out of itself but listening to ug is different and this difference cannot be explained in words.

My mother freaked out when I suggested humans are simply animals. She is a fairly shitty human being, but is utterly convinced she is doing God's work for the Jews! The blindness and ignorance. Only knowing I am so prone to it myself keeps me from totally losing it sometimes. I just accept that this is the human condition and get on with it, but sometimes I feel sickened by humanity. By life itself. The way it feeds on itself. The way life uses deception. The way it is so ignorant of its own destructiveness and greed. Yet at some level it's all just patterns repeating themselves. I don't see any kind of benevolent hand in any of it. I'm over feeling depressed about it. UG helped me in that. I'm not able to kill myself (mentally I can't bear it), so better just get the fuck on with this business of living and try to eek out something tolerable for myself.

"We have to live in misery and die in misery." So effortless was his brilliance! His words always had a hidden depth within them...I had never truly admired any individual all my life until I learned of UG about 4 years ago. How I wish I could meet him and be in his presence today. Damn, I love this man! He emanated a power that feels to me like the ocean. He was beyond ferocious, and yet one who is absorbed in life's play will never grasp the very subtle concepts of truth that lie buried beneath the surface layer of his words.

There is lot of stuff here www.well.com/~jct/ He basically is trying to point out that whatever you do in the direction of finding happiness using the thought structure actually takes you away from it since thought is your enemy. A terrible analogy has just cost you your knight, Ketan:/...For as I have already mentioned a movie is just somebody’s imagination, thought, roughly formed into this reality. UG doesn’t form his thoughts into something that someone else can enjoy, get addicted, simply cry or get copyrights for. He simply says to an ordinary guy, e.g you or I, that the roof above your head is collapsing. Now you are more than welcome to sit there and enjoy his words, replay them over and over again, try to find the meaning, or just something new that you failed to notice before, why not. There’s always that possibility. Yet I’ve heard an honest man to say that a roof is collapsing. So I check and off I’m. For life is simple. Sorry for the mistakes, was writing in the rain:)

I built up various belief systems over the years looking for solid ground, and then stripped them all away looking for solid ground. 20 years later. Never found it. Religion is a mish mash of science, delusion, morality, evil, superstition, insight etc. The only reason people really cling to it is to have it whisper in their ears that they are eternally real and infinitely important. The human imagination does the rest by conjuring up, clinging to and defending ideas, any ideas will do, that support this basic desire. Knowledge creates fear as it tries to alleviate it. It creates confusion as it tries to clarify things. Creates misery as it tries to bring relief. Yet we cannot let go. UG said in an interview with that Dutch guy that he got fed up of the whole thing and that he threw it out himself. This was a description of the calamity. Different than what he had said year previous that it was not in his control. Because this is what I had actually suspected might have happened. So we can truly never know. He just had some experience.

UG loved when people hated him, that's what he enjoyed the most! That's the primary reason he advocated everything which goes contrary to our understanding of humanity and its value systems. In the last part, he blurted out what pretty much summarised the conversation - " I don't even know what I am saying". I don't think he ever thought that people would take him seriously.

Any human can't enjoy others hating on them. UG was a human too, not some super-human. Stuff like "they didn't care" and stuff sound good but are far from reality. Any normal human cares a lot. And that is the reason humans share their thoughts. One that truly didn't care wouldn't bother advocating or trying to prove his words right to the world by speaking so much. It's like if a human was Stuck with monkeys, the human won't care explaining himself to the monkeys. So you're wrong when you say that about UG.

I think there is no need for conflict between JK and UG. Both are two almost parallel lines coming together at the same point in the end. If you have grasped closely UG has a slight extension from JK. Otherwise there is no need to completely disown either of them. UG has just gone a step further than "enlightenment" and come to a clearer conclusion.

Obviously native English speaking people like watts more because he gets his point STRAIGHT across to them. This guy I find I can't just put on and do the laundry, I have to sit down and listen to what he's saying because his accent is so thick. Perhaps that's a good thing though, it forces attention :). U.G. at 84 definatly got that spark or the life force that many don't have it even in their 60es. He provokes people to question the establishment promoted human values through history and the effect it had so far on our behaviour. He is probably right in criticizing it because so far it is all about folow the money mixed with too much violence and obuse of the powerless. So the established social valius are just like communism, it make sence in the book but doesn't function in reality, actualy makes things worse, so he hit the nail by giving few good examples why almost all the social valius are harmful.

From what I understand, the problem that we all want to solve cannot be solved through thinking (intellect) by putting it in a mental framework, and it is the constant demand to solve that deep rooted problem that makes our lives so miserable and desperate. Once the demand goes, reliance shifts to the Body (our true and only existence) - we are indeed just biological beings. Once that dawns upon an individual experientially, he sees the fallacy of Problems and the real place of his intellect (Thoughts). Its like saying once you understand the nature of fire, you just stop using it to douse fire.

There is no one and nothing to transcend. There is no way out. Life just happens, no one is doing life, no one is thinking, thinking happens. To survive, duality must be there. But there is no one seeing in dual state, duality just happens. The human brain is sophisticated enough to create the illusion of a psychological self with free will and choice, with a past and a future, but that`s an illusion. The self is just an artificially added software with no reality. And an illusion cannot dispel itself.
