Oh yay! You're finally checking out my all time favorite female singer! I've been waitin' and I'm so happy now - thank you! My dad was a huge fan of Patsy's. I discovered her when I was about 8 or 9 years old (turned 53 a few months ago)... She's the original G.O.A.T. of country! She was best friends with Loretta Lynn, another classic country music queen, along with Dolly Parton. :-) There will never be another Patsy; many try to emulate, copy, or channel her, but she was one of a kind. She had such a uniquely rich, powerful, yet silky smooth & soulful voice - absolute perfection! So tragic that we lost such a natural talent at just 30 years old. She was my late daughter's favorite female singer & like Patsy, she died way too young, at age 30 also... Please, please, pleeeeease check out the following classic hits: I fall to pieces, Tennessee Waltz, She's got you, Walkin' after midnight, Your cheatin' heart, Sweet Dreams, Why can't he be you?, So wrong, You made me love you, Strange, Back in baby's arms, Leavin' on your mind, Faded love, and so many more classics. It's a deep rabbit hole filled with incredible music & Patsy's beautiful voice, that makes anyone & everyone swoon. :-) Another tidbit of trivia - Patsy had recently been in a car accident right before this performance. Ever the professional, instead of cancelling the gig, she put on that headband to cover & hide the large cut/wound she sustained on her forehead from the accident, which almost killed her 2 years before the fatal plane crash...

Doesn't matter the year or generation. It resonated. My ex hated that song because his mom played it all the time when his dad left her. Then, I'd hear it while we were married and he'd say how much he hated it. Then my ex left me and it still makes me tear up....how those of us dumped feel crazy & stupid for falling for people and then being dumped. That's the power of music - that it crosses the years and still makes you feel like that.

OMFG!?! I hear Patsy & suddenly remember cleaning the new house every Saturday morning...it was my mom's favorite turn the sound all the way up while we cleaned. The whole record...and this song is just awesome.

Man oh man... you just can't beat somebody that really knows what they are doing slapping a stand up bass. Each and every note has that beautiful 'thump'.

Rest In Peace, Patsy Cline. You are definitely missed. She was a Country music star in the late-1950s and early-1960s, and was on the verge of crossing over to become a Pop Music star. Sadly, she was killed in a plane crash in 1963, along with Country music singers "Cowboy" Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins.
