I never did understand the Navy, Marine, Coast Gaurs or Army website's. The USAF website is so easy to use.

0:33 Lets not Forget Spirit 03, the AC-130H Spectre gunship with 14 crewmembers, was shot down during the Battle of Khafji,. They were responding for Air Support from U.S. Marines pinned down. The resulted in the largest single loss by any Air Force unit during Operation Desert Storm.

On the way to Vietnam we stopped in San Antonio Lackland AFB for 'pre combat' training. I was selected honor graduate, and because of that the only security policeman from my unit selected to go to Ranger school in Phan Rang Vietnam. Heavy weapons and small unit tactics, specialized training, combat SWAT, returned to my base to be nearly hit with rockets and still have PTSD from it to this day. I never heard of these people and I'm sure they never heard of us.

You'll hear then, because you'll be living on an Army post. They will ask you "what desk do you fly?" You'll learn to just laugh it off. Then, when they see you calling in an air strike on a target, it's like the wonder that a dog gets when he looks at his Master in awe for simply throwing a frisbee. They won't ask you that question again. Please see some good info I've got for all of you, if you have any questions, I'm here for awhile to answer what I can. Because I've been here, done that. And I was good.

On the surface you are correct, but it's metaphorical for encountering new situations where no book has been written on how to deal with it, and you end up being the innovators who write the book on it by establishing and utilizing newly created doctrine.
