The U.S. political system represents the top global risk in 2024, according to Eurasia Group's annual top risks report. Eurasia Group president Ian Bremmer says the U.S. is the only advanced democracy that is unable to guarantee a legitimate, free and fair transfer of power.

I'm not the smartest guy and i hardly know everything, but i have always been a keen student history and a follower of politics, particularly US politics for 30 years. What is chilling, and believe me i did get the chills while watching this video, is that I 100% agree with his analysis. He vocalized succinctly what has been causing me great anxiety deep down for a long time about US and global politics. An anxiety that has been affecting me in a way it has never affected me before. Too many people underestimate the very real potential threat Trump and his ilk pose to not only US, but also global stability. Quite frankly it is downright frightening. No joke. And all of it is the result of what the state of the U.S. political system, among other things, has been allowed to degrade to over the last few decades. Of course it was never perfect, and there have been many tense global events in the decades since WW2, but now we really are on a real precipice looking over the edge into the abyss like never before. Yes, some might call it "Trump delusion syndrome", or that i am exaggerating, but honestly, deep down, after much self reflection....i don't think i am. Let's just hope the proverbial coin flip lands right side up, however that needs to play out.

Trump and Biden are both horribly corrupt. Canada has been following suit with reporters getting arrested, protesters getting arrested (both truckers and anti pipeliners), our current pm seems to be extremely white collar corrupt as well. I doubt our other parties are much better. Ndp seems the least worse, but look at what the bc ndp did with their car insurance monopoly. They took away the ability to sue for injuries, instead they pay garbage benefits that take months to setup

He needs to run with a stronger #2 to build voter confidence. He would be 81 when he took office in January 2025. Harris was appointed to be the Border Czar. You can see how delinquent she was in her ONLY responsibility!

@@rebeccairl2290 You can manage the border without immigration reform. This is a derelict of duty on the part of the Biden administration in managing "illegal" immigration. And VP Harris did some dog and pony show in a few Central America countries. Nothing changed.

if trump somehow gets back into the WH, game over. The Founding Fathers Democratic Republic of the United States of America experiment will be over, failed, done, gone. Read Project 2025. It is the fascist Republican plans to turn the US into an authoritarian dictatorship. They have already reversed the Constitution and taken away a woman's right to control her own body and her right to choose her family size. This, despite millions & millions of protesting people railing against the SCOTUS reversal on Reproductive Rights. The US Democrats champion the Freedoms and Rights of ALL people. The Democrat Party operates from empathy and love for all people, the environment and justice for all.

How about we ramp up military spending to get the Canadian Armed Forces back to the world class standard they were in the WWI and WWII eras. Our snipers were some of the best in the business and saved a lot of lives. Our peacekeepers are known globally. With our friends to the south looking like they're going to start a civil war in the next 1-3 years I think it's about time we get back to actually funding our military. And that's ignoring the global problems like Russia's illegal war in Ukraine or the war in Israel.

@@ryuuguu01 Every day. And if it wasn't for the UK and US, this war would have been over mid-2022, when all Russia wanted was Ukraine to be neutral and to protect the people of the Donbas and allow them to be neutral. Now, Ukraine after suffering hugely (Russians also), will now have to succeed land, and the longer it goes, the more. Odessa and Kharkiv are the two that they could probably keep today, but not for long. Zelenskyy is a fool.

I don't think that he realizes how his over-inflated self-assurance makes his statements less like research-based reporting and more of an expert in controlling the rhetoric/narrative about the USA! This topic is a VERY REAL CONCERN globally, so can we please have less "elitist-experts" and more "real-world sociologists" informing us about this?!? Thank you very kindly, Professor-Marty.

What did he say to upset anyone? He said Bidan is old, and trump has baggage from the last election. That's not new? Trump polls higher than bidan in most polls and in the latest ABC tracker trump is well ahead... that's a liberal news outlet. Canada isn't going to show anything positive about trump. Most people want to stop funding war and build their country back up. That's what trump is selling. Also, no-one wants to see Harris in charge.

@daytonshuflita2201 news should cover all candidates equally. The corrupt duopoly of our southern neighbors affects every country. If all the news covers is two different people of course everyone else will have lower polling numbers. Rfk has roughly 15% polling if I'm remembering correctly, and thats WITHOUT huge coverage like Trump and Biden get. He's mostly been on newsnation, I think The hill, and other smaller channels
