The symptoms of this problem are often the same although the causes are different accrosss different car makes....
Some of the symptoms includes;
1. Car shutting off. This could happen after a stop on traffic of just a brief stop in the middle of driving...
If in motion, you will notice the car suddenly decelerating, and all the throttle will refuse to respond, until it finally stops.
If you stopped briefly for any reason in the middle of drive, you could just notice that the car engine has inexplicably turned off.
2. Engine revving up while car is not moving before shutting off. You will notice the car engine rev up slowly, high without car moving, then shuts down on it's own with the "do not drive," or "damage to gears Transmission," or "see dealer for services" displayed on the dashboard.
3. Crank or no crank, no start... another symptom that often follows is either the complete refusal to crank or the car may crank but either way, will not start. When the car turns off in this manner or when the problem is completely registered in the car ECU.
4. Stucked gear. The gear in this case is also often stucked at park, and or the last gear it was left at, before the car shuts down.
You could also see An orange box appear beside the speedometer saying 'transmission not in park, no signal lights showing, or complete blank on the instrument panel cluster.
All these are symptoms of the U0028 error code, and this symptoms just like the causes may vary slightly depending on car makes and model.
