It’s indeed about a toxic relationship, a twisted love song is what Bono called it himself. It has all the twists, doubts and beauty of real relationships in it. It’s not a lovey dovey song, though people still play it on their weddings apparently: they must not listen to the lyrics :-) The song recently reached a billion streams on Spotify.

Bono's voice has changed so much throughout the years. Still heavenly and the rest of the band musically is stellar.

I think there a band you must have lived under a rock if you hadn't heard of U2. They are the best live band on the planet. They have recently finished a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas they were the first Act to play there.

I've heard this song a thousand times before, but only recently has it--unfortunately--resonated with me so much. Really appreciate hearing about your own experience and how applicable it is to the song.
