UAW President Shawn Fain and Vice President Chuck Browning detailed the tentative agreement (TA) with Ford on Sunday night after the national council voted to send it to general membership.
In all, the change pages detail more than 860 pages, which you can read by clicking here, and the TA includes a $10,000 ratification bonus for salary and $5,000 for hourly workers.

This is wild. Firstly I don't see how anyone knows what people did with their money. I've seen as well as read stories recently about pretty well to do people who saved money while working. Spent very frivolously but either had family or themselves get sick and have damn near everything wiped out from ridiculous medical bills. Cost of everything has gone way up. So that 100 bucks from yesterday isn't the same as 100 dollars today. Smh

Ps, does think that the UAW should follow teamsters patterns and take of the retirement and Health and Welfare benefits of its union members they could absolutely take the money they get every single month from their members and they could invest that money into a pension fund that would lift a lot of pressure off of the big three and they can even get more money for wages

No you don't need a co-conspirator to help the companies get what they want. Look at uaw 958. For 35+ years talked the hourly workers into setting for crappie contracts, let the company take all perks, mandatory OT weekends,, 3 in a row, 4th off. Promised college workers sign on bonuses, didn't deliver. HUGE TURNOVER!! work got around how dirty they were. Keep your money instead of union dues that Don't help you pay your bills 💯

@sclifton8709
@sclifton8709 8 ай бұрын
Did you see we now get a 5k sign bonus. 25% barely covers what we gave up back in 08. There's also language in the contract that states they can make "adjustments" within the contract at later dates. Two tier still there. They just got slick with the wording. The TFT has to have "consecutive" 6 months of service to be promoted to in progression. As if any of us who work in the plants haven't seen how they will wait till you have a few days left then lay you off. No pension. Nothing for the retirees. An extra 500 bucks a year which is taxed at the bonus rate of 42%. Fake strike etc. This contract is terrible

@doomman700 Funny you rat. If you used your comprehensive skills to understand basic words, you would have picked on the reasoning. It's not a secret that Toyotas can last way longer than any other brand, next to Honda, so it will be worth the increase. If you're buying a 33K, shitty Jeep, GMC, or Ford product vs. a 25K Toyota, you are making poor life choices. I can afford a car from the big three, but saving money and something reliable trumps stupidity and ignorance.

No one makes that in the plants unless you're basically making top pay and working so much OT you might as well have a cot at the job. Where did that number even come from. The companies and News (paid by the companies) will have people think workers make so much for little work and it's our fault the prices of vehicles go up. Not at all. The companies use every excuse they can to raise the prices. During covid when they knew people had stimulus checks but the supply /inventory on everything was low, people were paying over sticker to get the vehicle they wanted. Companies saw that. Got greedy. Raised the prices. Now they're going to say they had to pay the workers so cost goes up again. They're greedy. Which is why the big 3 ceo's make 20 plus mil a year and the ceo's over at Honda Toyota etc make less than 10m.

Trump does not support unions or workers and was not great w job creation. He inherited a good economy from Obama! Biden (even though I am not a fan of any of these guys) has created more jobs than Trump. When Trump came into office there was already 145.6 M jobs after 30 months there were 150.8 M jobs. When Biden came into office the economy was shit w Covid and there were 143 M jobs and after 30 months there were 156.2 M jobs and still improving.

Will there be layoffs in 2024? A number of companies across sectors kicked off 2024 by announcing they are slashing jobs on the heels of worker layoffs at the end of 2023. Experts say investments in AI could be a contributor, but aren't exclusively to blame. Here's a list of companies that are reducing head counts.23 hours ago. Vote Trump 2024

No longer respectful of Mr. Fain. Right now he should be saying thank you for giving us so much, and let’s move on to make the Company successful. There’s none of that. It’s still the same old “the Companies suck.” Good luck with that. You put another nail in the coffin of your hard-fighting union and American work overall, and you don’t even seem to know it. Economic tougher times are ahead, but you feign the the same ignorant, “good times are forever” BS.

I also refuse to vote for this because of the percentage of every bonus or percentage raise we get the local union up to international get a piece of it. This is time to stop as well. YOUR EXCUSE IS WE WORKED FOR THIS. THEN GET YOUR MONEY FROM OUR 2.5HRS PER MONTH. YOUR JUST AS BAD AS THE COMPANY. I want a pension. $11,000 a year into my 401k while the pension employees will receive $40,000 a year in pensions and also whatever they invested themselves. In 30 years ford will give is barely $280,000 but just 10 years of a pension equals $400,000. For me to have a retirement that comes close to them I will have to save at least 50% of my weekly pay. So if I want to retire decently I will be bringing home half of what they legacy workers will bring home. You gave the pensions a raise and then gave us 3.5% more on top of the already garbage 6.4% we get. How in the world is that a huge improvement or retirement security in the least. Also I will have to pay for Healthcare out of that money because we don't getvthat also. We aren't 2nd tier, we are worse, we are 3rd tier. Please everyone both no. We should have fought for equal retirement first and then the raise ls and cola and everything else second and if we got less so be it, but we would at least get less together. Once again 2nd tier in progression is the scapegoat and the 2nd class workers they think we are.

That $11,000/year will be invested over your career the going thought process 7% gains a year. If you don’t abuse your 401k by taking loans out or withdrawals you will have $1.1m after 30 years. As much as I’d like all labor to have a pension to count on $11k 401k contribution a year isn’t anything to laud at.

You can't be serious... There's a reason why the word, "forced", is so often used in these briefings. Ford wasn't, "working with them", at all. They, just like the other three companies in this strike, (GM, Stellantis, and Mack) only came to the table on these negotiations, because their hand was forced. They conceded to these demands. They didn't give in to them. And, unless you're new, you should know that that's pretty much SOP for the big companies.
