You're partially right: automation is coming but it's still a generation or two before it's fully implemented. The infrastructure just isn't in place and there are still so many variables the AI can't plan for.

We taxicab drivers learned this already. I agree with you. Now Rideshare drivers are going to learn this lesson the hard way.

I believe it depend on your region. Here in Washington DC drivers make a lot of money doing it full time. The infrastructure is to curvy, old and complicated for autonomous anytime soon. But I do agree, you make as much money you can, and invest in other opportunities that present itself, such as buying a refurbished or foreclose home then rented out. But definitely have a main job and this become a second part time or main job, because many drivers are getting deactivated without explanation, and you still want income coming in. Or work like a dog, save your money

I drive some kind of Uber also in Malaysia named Grab, and payment is lesser day by day, but i chose to learn digital marketing or try to be expert in online marketing as i know with this one knowledge i have ability to sell whatever i want or selling others people stuffs on later days.

I say if someone enjoys driving for uber or lyft then that makes them successful in their own life. Success isnt always measured by wealth and material items as media would like us to believe.

I think it would be good for me because I will be retiring soon. So it would just be extra money to make ends meet.

Uber has become almost criminal in Puerto Rico. It is just so bad that I don't drive that much anymore. The long pickup for shit pay has destroyed Uber here, AR is always below 50% when it was over 90% before and there are significantly less drivers at night so people want us to squeeze 6 people in an X, I just had to cancel a $31 request because of that.

actually theres a lot of skill and stress you learn as an experienced driver alot of ppl dont understand, you havent been in the crazy situations i have in my party van...think of a glass that you would put water in, instead of water pour sand in it, every grain of sand is something that can and will happen in an uber, btw im a sponsered driver through sony uber doordash im above most drivers
