Which is the best commercial automatic milk steamer on the market? We compare two of the market leaders: the Ubermilk & the Perfect Moose.
While both devices can save time (and money) for cafes, coffee shops and other hospitality businesses - they each work in a very different way.
In this video Josh from our Coffee Science & Education Centre compares the pros & cons of each machine.

A good honest review, which included the cleaning - I have noticed these machines and to cater for the customer who demand more froth, the proprietor uses an Ikea battery powered Wisk

Seems to be great machines. Consistency is extremely, extremely important and with lots of baristas working different shifts, etc. consistency can get easily out of wok. Hence, in such circumstances these machines seem to be the perfect alternative to hand-steaming.

Hi! One of the local coffeeshops here has the perfect moose milk steamer. And the texture of the milk is just perfect. I have never drank milk foam that comes even near to this perfect texture. Are there steamers that you can use at home that can produce the same texture or that come near to this texture?

Hi boys, The second machine means the Ubermilk it’s the same in Aguilla Nespresso machine ?! I’m talking about machine I woke with more than 10 year ago and the milk was more than perfect ,I just wanna know if it’s the same process.. Thanks

I'm not familiar with the Aguilla machine, but there have been many versions of commercial auto steamers over the years. They typically heat the milk and then inject air, like a traditional steaming wand. The problem is, they produce a dry, foamy mess rather than the fine, silky texture you can get from steaming manually. The Ubermilk aerates the milk cold and then heats it, the end result is a much finer texture, and lightning fast service times.

Why can't we get this quality in a home machine. I suppose the closest thing is the automatic milk frother in the Breville Oracle

I think they're only available in Europe, Australia & New Zealand. Might be worth contacting these companies directly to check if they have a 110V version on the way...

The disadvantage of the ubermilk, even if you have two of those you can only use normal cow milk.

If your making 100's a day then you should have no problem steaming, are you really a barista if you only pour it??

I guess at the end of the day your cafe sells coffee - No one checks credentials, AKA a certificate, they only care about taste................Barista's will still be overseeing the process so I guess it still needs a trained eye.

Absolutely - and as wages, staff availability etc become harder to manage a machine like this will likely save 75% of a FT wage
