Ubik by Philip K Dick

Ubik is one of my favourite novels by Philip K Dick, and with typical PKD style, this books asks the read to wonder who is alive and who is living in a dream like state. In this video, I do a brief summary of the novel, then talk about some of the more interesting ideas that this novel covers.

Great book. It felt like watching a Paul Verohoven film if it were a basic story computer came you'd play on an old computer. I remember the concept of deconstruction via spray paint cans

@@abraintrust like robocop with how they have goofy commercial segments making fun of very real issues but mixed with a gritty Realism about shady corporations etc

It really feels like Dick is trying to promote God and religion with this book. Am I missing something? Or is this just religious propoganda to promote the idea of faith?

It seems like it’s talking about his own views of god. But maybe that theme is built into the ether and people transmit it without intention.
