I feel like I've been spoiled now that I've used this UC-46 wifi projector as the wifi option is something I don't think I could go without after using it. This is also very attractive because it is a budget friendly and cheap projector option. This is the most cheap home theater option you will likely find. The quality of this projector is pretty nice and way better than I was expecting. With 1200 lumens, it can be hard to use during the day with great quality, but after the sun goes down the projector's picture quality is much better. The picture/audio settings, different input options, remote, and included 4 GB USB stick all make for a great experience. The UC46 projector fan volume is lower than another projector I tested out and the sound actually gets pretty loud. I'd recommend hooking up another set of speakers for the best experience though. The UC46 is definitely a very portable projector at it's size and I recommend it! This would make a great home theater projector for gaming or movies for someone on a budget looking for a cheap option.

I own this same one . and love it . use it on a big projector screen i got on ebay for my man cave to have hooked up to cable box and xbox . works great

Great review. What do you most use this projector for? To me the best feature of this projector is the wifi linkage. Screen casting to me is the most powerful feature in an android. I really love being able to cast things like games and webpages from my phone to the TV and use sort of like a monitor..

Thanks - I use it a lot for Netflix and movie nights. It also works with video game consoles too. The wireless capabilities are pretty nice!

is your able to connect to a home wifi? any android phone is capable of that to my knowledge. It isn't a feature that is offered by a phone plan. So it would be no different than connecting to a home wifi router. If your using your phone as a hotspot then I understand the concern. That would be an issue if you don't have internet and a wifi router at home. If you have an adapter that converts to the available input on the projector then I would say yes you can. Just not sure which phone you have and its capabilities in order to answer that completely.

Thank you sooo much for quick response. I have disconnected internet services where I live (too expensive). So I have a LG Stylo 2 android phone. The plan I have is unlimited data but not able to use as hotspot (would have to pick another plan but data it too little 12GB/Month). So I have this UNIC UC46 projector with the hope of watching Netflix/Hulu using my phone. I connected my phone using the USB port but nothing came up. I'm thinking I may need a HDMI cable instead. What do you think?

The USB port is for hard drive reading only. So it would play pictures or movies stored on the hard drive of the phone. It would not work for doing screen casting. You could try something like in this article to help with that. www.howtogeek.com/201822/how-to-connect-your-android-phone-to-your-tv/ Never tested that so not sure it works.

Impressive that you were able to use the cast function on Android. Does this work with all casting apps like Netflix and KZfaq? or should I get a chromecast as well?

Hey it should work with all of those things if you're on an Android device and use that cast screen function. It basically replicates anything on your screen so you could definitely pull up those apps and play them - I have done it myself. Candid Tech impossible for me to connect it to my wifi, it Say Bad password but it's definitly the right pass, PLUS, non image when connecting my ps4..... Idk what to do, do you know where I can find update files ?

Buddy you are the reason I am making a purchase on this. I am looking to use it for watching soccer (football) and my current YG-300 yellow and white 320x240 projector just does not cut it. I assume with this I will be able to atleast see the score on the top left!

I don't own any Apple products anymore so I can't say for sure how easy it is to connect wirelessly, but I believe it is a bit harder than the Miracast function with Android

Hi. Great review. Can a camera tripod be screwed into the riser bolt hole at base so it can be used on a tripod? Or is there a seperate tripod screw hole at the base? Thanks

Thanks Sebastian, so this hole is not the standard tripod size. You might be able to use an adapter to fit it (this hole is smaller than your regular tripod hole). There is no separate screw hole on this model. I did a few other reviews on budget tripods and a couple of them do actually have separate tripod holes. (you can see the playlist on my channel if you want). I did not get to this review yet, but this projector is actually quieter, has a tripod screw hole, but does not connect wirelessly amzn.to/2uIjlMH - Let me know if you have any other questions!

so give me your honest opinion... is it worth getting and can I mirror my note 4 phone to this device and stream the movies I have on my phone to it flawlessly?

I think it connect very easily to any Android phone using the "cast" feature in your drop down menu. I have had times where it has worked flawlessly and occasionally it slowed down to where I hooked it up to HDMI instead. I did find out I had connection issues with TWC internet which is the other variable. As long as you have good internet I would expect it to stream well. The brightness isn't bright enough to use a lot during the daytime but this works as a good recreational projector to have fun with at a lot less cost than other projectors. If you want a really good picture that is sharp and bright you'd likely need to pay another couple hundred dollars at least. Let me know if you have any other questions and sub if you like my videos. I am looking to get my hands on a couple other projectors in the tier above this though for about double the price.

Hey thanks a lot for the comment! I actually have another video where I set up the projector about 15-20 ft from the wall and had it blown up pretty big (It was way bigger than 65-84 inches). I don't know if you had the chance to see it in the descriptions but here's the link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r9BiZKqhvcfMaaM.html . In my opinion the clarity didn't really drop off very much and I would have no problem using it that large to fill the top half of a wall (it's pretty cool and makes you feel like you're in a cinema). The brightness and color could be a bit better on this unit (and all the others in this price range I tested) but for the price you are paying it does the job. It will not compare at all to the brightness and clarity of an HDTV but for movies/games at night it does well. Yeah it would work with both fine using the HDMI cable. Just don't expect it to be as sharp as an HD TV at 1080p but in my opinion that still can't beat having it projected up at your entire wall like you can with this projector. No you would want native 720p or even 1080pdepending on how small of text you were going to show. The brightness of this model is going to limit you to use in darkness only too. If you'll have some ambient light in the room, you'll need a brighter option.

How would you compare this projector to GP70 LCD Portable LED Projector? Which one has a better picture/resolution and so on? Thanks :)

Hey Alf, they are both rated the same native resolution (800x480) and lumens (1200) and I honestly think they are pretty close in picture quality and sound. The main difference is the WiFi connectivity of the UC-46 which is really nice. You get a free HDMI cable with the Gp70 and it is good quality. If you don't mind not having the WiFi, then the GP70 works really well just like this one. I do have a few discount codes for the GP70 that should bring it down from $93 to $66 if that impacts your decision at all - just let me know if you want it if you decide to purchase the GP70. I really like the WiFi option though as it helps cut down on cords. Please like/subscribe if you enjoyed!

I have the projector and it works fine in the house. I tried to use it outside in my backyard but I could not get a signal' I used HDMI cord streaming from my digital cable box. Any thought why it won't connect to show tv. I have comcast cable and am about 100 feet away from the modem

Hi Cedric so is your TV box wireless or does it have to be hooked up to the wall? If you're using an HDMI cord I would think that using the option for HDMI on the projector would work then. It makes me wonder if it's more something with your cable box then. I haven't tried this with my cable box. What I have done so far is use my cable company's TV app to watch live TV on my device then stream it via the projector's wifi connection.

Hey and thanks for the comment! Unfortunately in this price range for around $100 you aren't going to be able to find a projector with true 1080p "native resolution". This one for example is 800x480 so it's really 480p. Getting one that is 1080p is going to cost you a bit more, probably about double the price. I haven't tested any true 1080p ones out yet but I agree that if you want to use one for a gig this probably isn't a great option because this needs a good amount of darkness or else you will lose the picture a bit.

It can as long as it is well ventilated probably, but I would recommend giving it some rest every couple hours just in case as a precaution.

Hey Muhammad I unfortunately am out of town and don't have access to the projector but let me show you a couple links I found. I haven't used my own laptop wirelessly to connect (I've used phones and tablets) but it should be through the DLNA function. The first describes what it is and how it works: esupport.sony.com/US/p/support-info.pl?info_id=884 - This second link shows someone typing in the web address to connect wirelessly. For your laptop I would try typing in the address displayed on the projector into your web browser and see if you can connect that way wirelessly and hooking up to the wifi network of the projector in your wifi settings. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oc2kibao2beomWw.html - I hope this helps out. As far as finding the production company it does seem like this is marketed for a bunch of different sellers out of China. I'm not exactly sure who the main manufacturer is but if you have any other specific questions, the Amazon seller I got this from was very helpful and knowledgeable about it so hopefully they would be able to answer your questions. Hey Peu, I would try not using Dolby Digital sound if your device is set up like that. I believe there is a copyright infringement with this device where it cannot play Dolby Digital so you may just have to change the sound to another setting. I believe I had to do this with my PS3 now that I think about it and then it played. At first I thought it was the Amazon Instant Video that wasn't working properly but it was actually the sound settings. Give that a try and let me know if it works. - Tim

Hey and thanks for the comment! The sound on the projector is decent but I would highly recommend just hooking up an external speaker to it which will drastically improve the sound quality. You can do this with any speaker and an AUX cable and you can be as simple or as fancy as you want with your speaker selection.

You can definitely hear the fan but I usually end up being able to ignore it as I'm watching. Using an external speaker really helps too and gives you a better experience in my opinion.

I've use this with a couple of lamps on in the living room but anything more than that and you will definitely notice the quality decrease and it will be harder to see. What do you think you will have on when you say "minimal"?

The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.

I have put this to about 4 x 7 feet at the maximum depending on how far you move it back. I probably have it about 15 feet away from the wall to get it that big. If you move it closer, it will be as small as you want.

May i ask will the quality of a full hd video be good on this projector? Will the 1080p video be sharp and clear or distorted? Thank You!

Hi Justin, with this projector it will not be as clear as 1080p. The way these projectors work is that they convert the incoming video to their "native resolution". If that is 1080p as well then it will show in true 1080p. This projector's native resolution for example is 800x480 which is the best quality this projector can display, even if the feed coming in is 1080p. This is misleading because many projectors on Amazon say "compatible with 1080p", but that does not mean that it will be that quality. Therefore, a 1080p HD tv will look much more clear than this projector but I think the trade-off for a much bigger picture was worth it. It honestly doesn't look too bad, especially from farther away when you have it projected at a large wall. I would still watch some movies on this, especially when having a group of people over, compared to my 48" 1080p HDTV. I am thinking should i just fork out more money to get a better projector. My main concern is that i am afraid that the video may look pixelated. Is the projector display also visible on daytime? If possible would you post some photo of how a full hd video look like on this projector. Thanks for all your help!

It does not look laggy, the streaming is actually pretty smooth. The quality doesn't look "pixelated" per se but it is not what I would call "sharp/crisp" either. If you want a pretty sharp image then you may have to go up to a more expensive model with better brightness too. Which brings me to your next question: If you are using this during daytime, you must definitely have the curtains drawn with low-light conditions. I would only really recommend this in pretty dark conditions such as at night or in a room with windows shut and drawn closed. Take a look in the description for the test video link - I actually did post some video of this projector so make sure your settings are set to HD and see for yourself if you think it's good quality or not. The brightness is probably about what you can see there. Maybe a tiny bit brighter but it is not the brightest. The screen is pretty big there the way I set it up. It was a lot bigger than 100" I would say. Like you can see in the video preview clip with the person next to it, it can get pretty large. And no problem!

Hey I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working. First, just make sure the batteries work and aren't bad. Second, you have to be pointing at the back of the projector as that is where the infrared sensor is for the remote. If it still isn't working doing those things, unfortunately you might have to contact the company you bought it from.

You probably could but the projector itself doesn't have a mount so you would need some type of bracket for that and besides that the cord isn't the longest on it so you would just need your outlet nearby. It probably works better just setting it up on something like a shelf/chair/tabletop to be honest.

Hey Ronn thanks a lot for the comment! So you might be able to hook up your device that you're streaming from up to a bluetooth speaker and still transmit the sound that way if you are streaming wirelessy to this projector. I have tried that before and it has worked but other times it did not and I had to play around with connecting/reconnecting the bluetooth to override the speaker of the projector. Even if you use an aux cable and a small bluetooth speaker I found the sound quality can be greatly increased if that's an option for you. Sorry that's not a concrete answer but that's the best I've got haha.

You can definitely hook this up by HDMI to your PC. I just streamed a football game that way. You just might not get the clearest picture for text and looking at sites like Twitter and Facebook or using programs like PowerPoint or Word. It really does best with using it for entertainment only.

Hey thanks for the comment. The screen definitely isn't full HD (1920x1080) as the native resolution is (800x480). It does look decent though but it will not look as good as an HD TV and it will not be as bright either. This one is good for rooms with windows covered or night viewing mostly. The picture size just depends on how far back you have the projector. I have used it up to 100" diagonal or about a 4 by 7 foot picture.

I have not unfortunately as I don't have one. I have only hooked up my phone wirelessly and tablets and computers by HDMI. I would assume the fire stick would work but I cannot say for sure :(

The fan is definitely a bit loud. I would definitely recommend using an external speaker so that the fan is less noisy. Even with a small bluetooth speaker, you can improve the sound a great deal. If it is getting hot sooner than that, then there may be a problem with the unit. I'd make sure you have it on a surface where it has room for the fans to run without being blocked as well and well ventilated.

I would imagine that should work. Since it has the HDMI connector once you put it to HDMI it should work exactly like it would on TV. Here are the supported file types I found online for this model. Hey my tablet is actually an American Pumpkin tablet that I got off of Amazon - it's a 64GB. My tablet has a mini-HDMI port so I can connect that by HDMI cable to my TV as well. It runs an Android system and basically any other Android tablet that has the "cast screen" option in the settings or drop-down menu should work with this projector. +Charles Farrugia So the way this works is the projector almost has it's own "wifi". You still have to connect another device to it, you just don't have to use cables. So what device would you be connecting? Is it an Android tablet or phone, Apple, etc? You basically hook up your device which is on your home wifi and connect via the projector wifi to broadcast your display. If you have an Android tablet or phone, it's as easy as hitting "cast screen" in the top dropdown menu like I did in the video above. I hope this helps, if not let me know and I can try to help you further. Otherwise I would contact the company if you need further troubleshooting.

Hey thanks for your comment. On the seller page that I bought the projector from they do not list it as 3D compatible. I did see searching on Google that one seller said it was red/blue glasses 3D capable but that may have been a newer model and that is not the newest 3D technology anyway. So in short, the answer would be no. At this price range, the WiFi connectivity was a surprise to me compared to other projectors but I think you might have to go up in price a bit to get the 3D included. Hi Monica, yes you should be able to use the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with this. On an android phone it's as easy as swiping down from the top and using the "cast screen" button to hook up to it like I did in the video. If you like my videos, please sub! Take care

(Only support: iPhone & iPad iOS version 7.0 above, Android Smartphone & Tablet version 4.2.2 Above, Windows8.1 & Windows10). Wireless function supports Miracast protocal and DLNA" It is not actual "wifi" that this projector uses (even though they call it that) but is more the Miracast of DLNA like it says. I use Android devices like in the video and haven't had a problem with those. If you are going to use an iPhone I haven't done it myself but someone in the comments section said they hooked it up to their iPhone 7 plus using "airplay".

Hey so I looked at a bunch of videos only to come back to that Junpro listing lol. Look at the 4th picture down in the product listing. That shows specifically how to connect it to your iPhone. That is also how the videos I have seen show how to do it. So as it shows in that picture and states in the description, you should have no problem mirroring your iPhone screen to the projector.

Hey Michael thanks for the comment. I know a couple people have commented that they think it's a bit loud but honestly for me it isn't too loud. I have tried 5 projectors out now in this price range and they're pretty much all the same noise with the fan. I would definitely recommend just hooking up another speaker to it to amplify the sound and help offset the fan. When doing that, I really don't have an issue as I feel like I just stop concentrating on it once I'm using it. Let me know if you have any further questions and pleas sub/like if you can. Thanks a lot I appreciate it! You definitely have some trade-offs with the cheaper ones but for me I can live with them. Like I said you can definitely notice the fan but I tend not to get distracted by it. The visual quality is also decent but won't look like an HDTV. But for me the giant screen you can get is worth a bit of the trade-off and the picture looks decent in complete darkness. Let me know if you come up with any other questions/concerns. I don't know if you saw but I have a playlist of projector reviews as well. The Cheerlux one is the most recent I have done and last I checked it was $72. I agree with the fan sound level on budget projectors are about the same. I've owned 2 or 3 budget projectors (never really used them enough to justify spending the money on a high-end projector). The fan on them does tend to make you think "this thing is loud" and the built in speakers are usually crap, but once you plug in your own set of speakers you don't notice the fan sound.

Hey and thanks for the comment. I don't think this projector is really well suited for that. It is great for pointing at the wall or a screen and is very portable to keep taking it out and putting it away without much hassle. It is not a very high end projector though but has been great for casual use at night. I've used it for my Playstation as well as Netflix and it was much more fun than using only my 48 in TV. The easiest way to hook this up is probably by an auxiliary cable to your speakers to the microphone port on the projector

Hey Kemal, both projectors are pretty similar quality and are the same resolution so first thing is I would probably look if one is cheaper. I would probably go with the UC46 if I had to pick if they are both a similar price since you can also use it wirelessly with many devices. Unfortunately you can't turn the fan off but it's about the same as the other projectors in this price range I have tried out. It's meant to keep it from overheating so unfortunately you can't turn that off.

So for a presentation it's probably not the best. Most the the listings for these say they're more for entertainment use and won't do well with text. Also, they need to be used in a pretty dark room or else they will have a hard time being visible. Thanks for the comment!
