uConnect Blank screen - I broke it installing the TaZer

The method I cover in this video "normally" fixes issues with the uConnect screen when it's blank or locked, but I inadvertently created the issue when I installed the zAutomotive TaZer Double Bypass. I installed the TaZer to clear the P050B code generally a "Cold Start" code. My car had been sitting for a few weeks due to travel so I felt the extra cold day coupled with the potential low battery from sitting for a few weeks was the issue.
The Install went well, I was able to reset the code with the Tazer but the uConnect screen was blank. and this is where the fun began...

This Video just saved my day. My 2018 Dodge charger GT has been with the dealership for 2 weeks and after i stumbled on this video i requested for my car back and this worked and got my radio back on and working perfectly fine. Those guys at the dealership are getting paid for nothing.....GEEEEZ!!

Once you disconnect negative on battery, press the horn on steering wheel, that will help out of discharging any accumulation of electrical charge

Crazy, took a ride up to KS this last weekend and got the same code with a remote cold start @9 degrees! Cleared the code and got back to warm TX zero problems!

Don’t feel bad, bro..... I’ve mixed up fuses on my ‘16 Charger Scat replacing speakers, adding new amp, etc.... drove me crazy for a day or 2. At the same time, an OTA update was popping up here and there. Talk about frustration. Glad you got it sorted out!👍🏽

Funny mistake, also happened to me with my Challenger Scat Pack when i installed my Front Cam. Scared the hell out of me at first cause here in germany its hard to get support! Anyway fixed it by checking the fuse box again. Sadly after some time using the front cam a black screen appears while i use the cargo cam button to switch. Maybe its the Tazers fault and i may reset everything. By the way thank you for your awesome and helpful videos.

I don't know if it was Tazer related or not but after sitting for about 3 weeks the factory battery in my Challenger was low enough that the engine wouldn't crank so I used a small jumper pack at the battery instead of the front jump points and my screen was out until I pulled the fuse tap for a few minutes to clear things. Thankfully came back fine.

Depends on the age of the battery, if it's older than 2-3 years 3 weeks of sitting is around where I experienced issues starting my scat pack.

Had the same problem got the same tuner looked at the whole video did the same mistake only thing is I put the double connector in the wrong spot put it in the right spot put the battery connector back on and boom radio back on thanks bro

I have a question and want to see if you or your followers have ever experienced there xm satellite radio always showing acquiring signal even after trying to do a refresh signal several times along with pulling the radio fuse for a few seconds, I also have the lifetime Sirius package that I have had for several years, xm customer service can't figure it out and they show my account active. Any suggestions?

I threw a po501B yesterday as well with my 2018 wide body hellcat yesterday as well. I used a code scanner to reset it mine is in an unheated garage as well at the moment. I was starting it once a week but am thinking i should now start it 3 times a week or put a battery tender on for the winter months i live in NJ the code hasn't come back as of yet.

Double bypass Video is in the cards on the top right. It’s an extra OBD2 port in the trunk to bypass the security dodge added to the front port The battery terminal is not for sale from Scalia-Motorsports.com yet

Had that happen too. Takes a while for the cell signal to connect back up and verify everything. Car looking good too. BTW, check out any the Vicrez products yet? Curious about the rear defuser bumper replacement.

The vicrez one looks like a pain to install you need to pull the rear valence measure and screw in each fin. Not something I’m down to try. Check it out. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nZmHpK-Qss7PYp8.html

Looks like it's missing the backup sensor cut outs. If that's correct it would require you to measure and drill out the holes. Remove the sensor mounts from the old valence by melting out the plastic welds then weld them into the new one. It looks like a lot of work for a $389 product. The other issue is this one is a visual only modification. You will still maintain the open back rear valence that will guide air into the rear bumper "parachute" rather than diffuse the air

@@WorkPlayDrive From what i was told, you don't need to drill the holes and the mounts are already in the product. Just snap in and the plastic is thin enough to allow the sensors to work. And just my opinion but i don't think any of these defusers actually "work". Just a visual preference. If you wanted actual defusers to work you would need panels all the way under the bottom to keep the air flowing without disturbance and very low to the ground. I did that once. Freaked out for a sec, then noticed the fuse adapter pigtail thingy for the bypass wasn't fitting like it used to. That's when I figured it I put it in the wrong slot. Lol

This happens to me in my 2019 Ram from time to time. I find that hitting the power button and turning it off then back on again fixes the issue.

EDIT: 9:46 I noticed when you took the radio fuse out of the incorrect spot, instead of putting it into the fuse tapper(tazer) you set it to the side, installed the tapper with the z automotive included fuse into the radio slot and it worked...might have to try that in the AM I installed my tazer in the trunk with the double bypass. Srt pages took a while to show up and get it to let me make changes, but once all was good with the tazer I lost the back up camera. Radio is fine just no camera. Anyone run into this?

This rear camera not working has happened in my 17 scat. I was also worried nothing worked after connecting the battery back up.

I had the same issue I connected the battery and needed to go somewhere. After reconnecting the battery you need to wait a while for the system to re-load. If you start driving while the system is still loading many features like backup cam, Bluetooth, car settings will not work or work poorly until you turn off the car. Close the doors and walk away with the keys for a few minutes.

Hello, I've checked all the fuses and tried to disconnect the negative on the battery more than an hour. The touch screen and blind spot mirror alert still don't work 😢 Any other suggestions to solve this problem please?

Originally after driving a manual for 4 years, I thought I would miss it, but I don't, not even a little. With the Hellcat, I always drive in a custom drive mode. Mostly Track settings except suspension and steering set to sport, It's very aggressive sound and feel. Then I pull the shifter to the left and drive in unassisted manual using the paddle shifters. It gives a very similar experience using engine braking to enjoy the sounds of a perfectly rev-matched downshift and less brake dust. The hellcat clutch was really stiff, I felt like it was going to be more of an annoyance on those long cruises we take. The scat pack clutch was perfect, it was stiff (not floppy like an import clutch) , but I can pump that thing all day. 10 minutes in on the hellcat and I felt like it could be an annoyance. When I got back in the scat after the test drive I almost put the clutch pedal through the floor.

If you have your phone connected via bluetooth place a call to someone, with the car in at least aux power. It should pop right on, but yours is newer

At least ur mess up got me to learn something. My friend has a radio that would not connect to bluetooth. Even the menu cant be selected. I will try it. Should. I pull the fuse or just disconnect the negative terminal on the battery

Negative terminal will reset everything like the adaptives so it’s worth it.

First of all taking the negative battery cable off putting a metal screwdriver through the hole and sticking it into a metal place to hold it is not the best way to disconnect your ground. But I like to do is wrap a rag around the terminal on the cable and then let it rest on the battery that way there’s no way it can flip of fall off and make connection when you do not wanted to also I’ve heard there’s a reset where you take both cables off and touch them together or tape them together and leave them like that for some certain amount of time and that will reset everything and makes a lot of problems go away I believe last time I had to do that was on my Sunroof got stuck open

I got hit in rear corner level with the battery. I had my Tazer Z hooked up and after the impact I got in the car and cranked up and everything was out and widows went down and not go back up. Come to find out it knocked the battery loose at the ground wire and art off the battery. My car was at the dealership for 5 months they had to replace control module for the window and completely replace the infotainment center! Body damage the bottom reflector above the exhaust was cracked and scuff paint the crush bumper behind the flare was replaced very minor impact

You may need to go in to the dealer and have it replaced. This solved the constant freezing issue on my buddy's 2018 Scat.

The funny part was, he got a fit bit for xmas and he's all about getting over 10,000 steps a day so I was referring to that, but the travel was pretty bad

I had the TaZer from the scat pack and it offers more features for the Hellcat than the Burnbox so I'm using it to do the following: 1. To Reset the CELC 2. For line lock 3. To raise and lower the front windows with the keyfob 4. For Light Show and Parade mode 5. Coll down Mode 6. for Dark mode (video coming soon) 7. Navigation adjustments while the vehicle is in motion 8. Disable DRL Dropout
