Honestly, whether you like Jones or not, this guy is quite honestly the greatest mma fighter of all time. Unlike GSP and other great fighters, Jones makes elite fighters look ordinary. This guy has truly fought the best fighters of our era in his respective weight class. Thing is he doesn't just win, he dominates fighters. He makes A level fighters look like C level fighters. This guy is a legend and although i wish Cormier would win, he has no chance to beat Jones.

very good performance tonight Jon! real fans/critics could not have expected nor asked for anythin better. u took a fight on short notice, was already deep in ur trainin routine for an opponent with a totally different build and skillset, and u are returnin to the cage after a year off. these phoney fans and lesser fighters are a bunch of drunk barbarians and only wana see violence and bloodshed. u fought with intelligence and made sure not to permit urself to fall into any danger. u did the right thing by ignorin the negative howlin from the inebriated crowd and u fought the fight u knew u needed to. that is why u are the best and that is why u have not lost. mad respect to OSP as well for takin this fight with the best on such short notice. im sure he has learned alot from this fight. if he uses the experience gained from this match with the G.O.A.T to fine tune his own craft, he is goin to be a big problem for his next opponent. again, great work tonight champ. enjoy the rest of ur night in celebration and get u some well deserved rest afterward! God Bless!

Found that most guys that actually try to stand up to Jones do better , OSP looked a little star struck - he was just looking to survive , he didn't throw many combinations and rarely got any clean strikes in . The injury only made things worst for OSP.

@SouthJohnston8 жыл бұрын
It wasn't a bad performance at all. He controlled the fight, he was dominant. A great way to come back. Dominating a tough fighter. The ring rust will be gone now. It's that mentality that makes Jon so good. He's hard on himself even after a very complete performance.
@SouthJohnston8 жыл бұрын
***** Unless you're Dominick Cruz, ring rust is real. Also, OSP is a completely different fighter to the one he had been preparing for. Jones doesn't normally take fights on short notice. He takes his preparation for each individual fighter very seriously. He never once looked in trouble. He dominated the fight and didn't have to get out of second gear. There were occasions where he could have done more. Like you said, when he had his back, I think OSP was preparing for the end himself and Jones didn't finish. I would have liked to have seen him be more aggressive in the clinch on the cage and land more elbows. There was also a time where he carried him to centre of the octagon and was in side control and he let him up! That was strange. He just needed this fight to get back into the swing of things and eliminate ring rust. I'm sure we'll see the best of Jon next time.

Likes drugs, has a decent brain, decent heart, but was given the curse of anxiety, social awkwardness, and sometimes WE NEED drugs just to get thru the pressure of being around all those different people etc... These kind of matches should be for the number one spot with a guaranteed title match not for a silly interim belt. Most of the fighters on the card get paid less than those silly belts are worth. I would rather the UFC pay the fighters more than create these big expensive belts that add no value.

That's the point of the belt.. Guarantees a title shot. Other than that it's pointless
