He is doing everything right, he's become one of the biggest stars in the UFC. He has had more press than McGregor this year, and even the Colby vs. Leon press conference focused on Ian. The thing is, Ian needs to actually make it to the fight. The pressure might be too much for him, and he might go on a losing streak like Jame Vick.

I feel like when we see two wrestlers go at it we end up seeing a stand up war. If this is the case give me Cejudo. I have this weird feeling that a head butt may cause a cut that is in a spot where the doctor steps in and calls it. • I think Ian will get it done by decision 29-28 across the board. • I truly believe that Whitaker is much better than Costa and will earn an easy decision win. • Volk is the man at featherweight and won’t be able to be held down by Topuria and will outclass him across 5 rounds for a decision victory. 49-46 48-47 X2 I don’t see many stoppages in these fights!

For a while I have thought Topuria would be the biggest challenge for volk. Ilia's style & strengths are the real deal. Boxing, grappling, ground & pound, elite defense, balance, movement, reaction speed, striking velocity and mixing in body shots with ko level head shots. This could go either way I just hope it's a battle of high level skill and grit. I hope merab can beat Henry or if Henry wins I hope O'malley can humble Henry's annoying ass. After Cory vs O'malley happens!

Volk is older than when he fought Chad Mendez and maybe this counts against him...BUT...he is also clearly better. There aren't many in the UFC who've gone on a steeper curve of improvement than Volk over the last few years. Because, don't forget, he came to MMA later than most...after a Rugby League career. He's still on a part of the learning curve where he's getting real bang for his buck.

Yair is a level above the rest of the Feather weights, and Max is a level above that, and Volk is a level above Max...We don't know where Topuria fits in that list because Volk got tired of Max beating all the contenders..I suspect Topuria is at the bottom of that list of four, but he is improving fast, and is probably a future champion, some day in the future..

@@MemeSFX Ya except that is not a good judge of how their different styles will mesh in the cage..Sometimes MMA math like that works, but frequently it doesn't..Any of these guys could beat any of these other guys on any given night..But ya, Topuria skipped the line, he didn't get through max or Yair, so Volk would have a contender to fight..Reminds me of Israel Adesanya getting Strickland to skip the line so he had someone to fight..Alex pereira got KO'd by Israel but Alex KO'd Strickland then Strickland beat Israel..MMA math doesn't usually work..But my money is on Volk..

Tbh same thing was said before the Yair fight. A normal form Volk will just take Ilia to school with a 50-45. ilia has no kicking game, 80% are power shots with openings. Ilia is great, but i doubt he would Beat max, Yair or Arnold.

He didn't even get fully KO'd. He got wobbled. After a brutal weight cut since he wasn't in shape because he had surgery. Volk beat Yair in between and Islam did not fight until that rematch. Volk should have never agreed to take that fight under those horrible conditions.

I just gotta ignore the noise and understand there is much more depth to top tier level MMA. Regardless of all this tho, I have felt like Topuria vs volk will be such epic battle of skill. Even if volk didn't do the rematch with Islam I thought this match will be a huge test

We'll see how Oliveira does with Arman but it reminds me of how people predicted Oliveira would go on a massive loss streak, be beaten in rematches by guys like Chandler and Poirier and retire on a skid as soon as he lost to Islam and broke his 11 fight win streak.

Alex better be ready cos I believe Ilia is his hardest opponent besides maka, bc he comes from a ko and from an iview where he said he wasnt ok, and bc the judges and the ufc are more than willing to give Ilia the belt to generate businness around him. Just see ddp vs sean if Ilia brings excitement and there's a decision you can count on that.
