They do it to size up their enemy and get a sense of how strong he is. Also it is done to intimidate the opponent. Above all, it has entertainment purposes.

+PaulTurbo Make sure you come back after the fight. I think Rory is a horrible match up for him and is going to make it a priority to close the distance and take him down. Especially after the Wonderboy's last fight, Firas is gonna come up with a safe gameplan. Would have loved to see him get a title shot immediately though as I think he disposes of Lawler and then Conor wants no part of that. Conor vs Lawler 200 should be fun though too (assuming he wins tonight).

Its insane to see how much people are cheering for Jones and booing Cormier. I dont often really dislike someone, but Jones is such a fake person. He pretends he`s found himself again, that he is a better man. But he still acts the same arrogant, childish, condesending way, everytime he opens his mouth you can hear the emptyness in his words. He is the one who should be booed.
