hi, is there anything that needs to be done afterwards in terms of software so for the PC to recognize the new RAM memory? i went from 8gb to 16gb but in the system specs still shows 8gb... thanks for the great video btw

Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P regarding your question: there should be no configuration needed, your windows should be a 64bit windows, you can double check if you have 64bit windows by right click on my computer and go to properties, imgur.com/a/HM3DkoL also if when you install the ram the bios should detect the ram, if the bios doesn't show the ram you may have to update the bios or bad ram module or hardware issue on the laptop.

What was the model name for the ram that was in the laptop? Also how many pins did it have? Also what size is the hardrive of the laptop? I thought it was 1.5 but I couldn't find a definitive answer for this question.

the model and info its right @7:48 (sk hynix) its a Sdram DDR3L , you dont need to know the pin counts all the DDR3L are the same pins (240pins). the HDD /SSd here is the video for it: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/odWii7pms5aWZYE.html any ssd will fit and any HDD up to 2tb will fit.
