Is the CPU soldered to the mobo? I got one of these cheap a few months ago and was thinking about upgrading the CPU, but I don't feel like taking it completely apart for no reason. Thanks!

Justin Martin yes the cpu is soldered on the board, premuch any laptop that you buy 2015-2019 99% have cpu and gpu soldered . Unless you buy a alienware area 51 that are the only alienware series that have LGA cpu

uFixTek Hi brother. I have a question. If I have information stored on my hard drive, and I take the entire laptop apart, and then I have to put it back together as it does in the video, does the computer reset to factory settings by erasing everything automatically?

no the windows or any configuration that you had will be the same, nothing will change at all in the system. the only thing that may reset is the date and time and that will automatically change when you get the internet access. good luck.

If you don’t mind, I didn’t see the CMOS battery. Does it exist in this laptop?

thank you for the support to the channel by a sub my friend and regarding the question: this motherboard is designed to have the bios battery installed in this location, prnt.sc/yguyt5 But for this models they trying to keep the cost down on components so they didnt include a physical battery jack nor components, the bios uses the laptop battery , and thats why the laptop battery is holdup with a screw so people dont remove it, else the bios will get reset. in order to reset the bios remove the battery and press and hold the power ON switch for 40sec and the bios will reset.

this MOBO doesnt have an actual cmos battery installed on board, they want to save as much as they can with not installing this stuff, it uses your battery to save bios info, thats why the battery is screwed on the laptop so you wont accidentally remove it, else it will reset bios. @5:51 you can see on the right side where the white patch is on the board where the bios battery is planed to be installed.

I was also looking for the RTC Battery as I usually get the RTC battery low error whenever I have my laptop unplugged and I don't power it up for a couple of weeks, even if it has 95% battery. I also heard that it used the main battery for that purpose but in that case, how do you explain the behaviorI see? Thanks!

Pablo Figueroa finally, I started using the laptop more regularly and haven’t got the cmos erased since then. It seems it’s just not designed to be stored away for days and use it just occasionally. Great laptop anyway.

What size of phillips screwdriver did you use to remove the heatsink? My smallest ont kept skipping all the screws

for this models they use few different head sizes depending the batch you have to find the right size, i highly recommend you to get amzn.to/2PJyCbg they have every bits you will ever need.

this model doesn't have a cmos battery it uses caps, to clear cmos you have to remove the battery and press and hold power button for 30-60sec

this models dont have cmos battery they use the external battery, that's why they have screws for removing the external battery, if you remove the external battery the board still can keep the bios date and time usign a on board caps, if you want to discharge completely you must remove the external battery and A/C, then you have to press and hold the power on switch for 30sec and it will discharge the board.
