Ugly Head Hybrid Method 1

This is the Ugly Head Hybrid Trimmer Head Installation Method 1. This method is for most straight shaft trimmers and some curved shaft trimmers with a male bolt end (Weedeater, Poulan, Echo, ect). Used when removing whole housing and there is no removable shaft extension. Not compatible with electric trimmers.
This video will take you through the uninstall process of the most common trimmer type for this method and the install process of your new trimmer head.

I purchased this product for my older Echo SRM-3000 grass/bush trimmer. It's an ancient (mid/late 1990's) heavy rascal, that would have been used by Parks Board/Dept. of Highways/golf course type of commercial users. Watched this video, and Installation turned out to be a breeze. Now, if only it starts, It's been sitting for two years at least. Let us pray...

I just put these on my new craftsman 30cc trimmer. Made mince meat of wheat grass 2-3 feet tall. Those little blades tear it up!!!

The hexagonal cavity stripped out while installing. Now I can’t get it on completely or off. What do I do now?

A list of compatable trimmers would be nice. The package lists cub cadet and doesnt work with the cs470 model.

Hi !! Hey, was wondering if you could answer my question if the head fits the WORX 5.5A Electric Trimmer, 15-in ... it wasn't listed upon the packaging and nor were any of the several weed trimmers in stock at my local store. I'd love to use this head with the above mentioned WORX trimmer if possible! Thanks!

Does the ugly head work on the ego weed trimmer?

All of these videos say to tighten the head by hand. On my trimmer the shaft turns freely making it impossible to tighten the head.

Hello Gladrich, When tightening the head, you have to hold onto the rotating piece on the shaft as you turn. If you do not lock the rotation of the shaft by hand or with a screwdriver, it will spin. I have a Stihl FS 90R and for some reason after doing this,the thrust plate seems a bit loose,and wiggles a bit...

Could you please help me? I'm trying to put this on my EGO electric weed trimmer but on the head bolt there is no nut or plate at the bottom to hold onto to keep it from spinning when i put the new head on....also i don't 'think the bolt threads go all the way to the base...maybe i could use a spacer.....

You MUST turn the nut COUNTERCLOCKWISE!
