Do you have to try to center or position hitch in some way from left to right or forward to back before tightening bolts? Does hitch need to be centered with center of bumper somehow? Thanks!

You only have to align the hitch with the holes in the frame and it will be aligned on the bumper for you. It will only fit one way.

So with regards to the longer directions of the slots if the mounting bolts on each side of the vehicle are roughly centered in the long direction of the slots this would be adequate in regards to the alignment of the hitch receiver with the bumper? Is that a correct understanding on that?

@@Dave-jc6ky Correct. Everything is designed for the specific vehicle and will be aligned as long as the bolt holes on the hitch are aligned with the frame weld nuts. We also include installation instructions with every hitch purchase that detail where the hitch aligns.
