Trooper Hoover inspects the trailer for Tractor Time with Tim! He takes a close look at the hitch, chains, break away system, axles, brakes, frame, ramp storage and more. The trailer is in worse condition that we thought due to salt and other road debris. These are all issues that might be on your trailer!

Brent Hoover is one good enforcement officer, always willing to teach and explain to the driving public so the highways are safer. As I always say in my comments to him “We’re working together, for safety’s sake!”

Really nice of trooper Hoover to show what they look for, most roadside troopers aren’t as pleasant as trooper Hoover and god forbid you ask a question

I use a bungee cord to hold the chains tight under the ball everytime. It keeps everything from dragging but, flexes when the need comes.

The trooper is absolutely correct on the emergency brake activation cable. Great catch trooper.

This kind of educational video does more to inform people and improve safety on the roadway than 20 weigh stations. Many people just don't have a ton of experience with trailers. They usually just hook it up and go.

Might be good to have a video on the breakaway box and how to repair/replace and correctly connect the cable to the truck. Loving this series -- so much useful information.

logger Wade has had trooper Hoover on he seems like a good guy. alot of inspectors could learn from him, he seems to educate and truly care not just meet ticket quotas
