UK Arms Ukraine With Anti-Aircraft Starstreak Missiles To Fend Off Putin's 'Murderous' Invasion

The UK has decided to donate Starstreak k surface-to-air missiles to Ukraine to help Kyiv fend off the Russian attack. Starstreak is a close-range anti-aircraft guided-weapon system used to take down enemy helicopters and fighter jets. Ukraine could use the Starstreak missiles to take down Russian fighter jets that fly low to bomb its cities. Starstreak missiles would be deadly for Russian helicopter pilots who fly at a much slower speed than jets.

At the same time, unlike infrared-guided MANPADS, the Starstreak cannot be spoofed by flares or other heat sources. Unlike most air defense missiles, it’s effectively immune to countermeasures, including the latest L-370 Vitebsk (exported as the President-S) directional infrared countermeasures (DIRCM) found on many Russian Aerospace Forces helicopters.

UK should be careful in announcing what arms they are supplying to the Ukraine as Russia sees this as a proxy war and Russia is mad as hell for adjacent NATO countries. If this war escalates beyond the Ukraine war, the UK most likely will be one of the first to be hit by Russia. This war needs to end before millions upon millions if people are killed. The UK should strive for peace and persuade Ukraine to act accordingly before 100% of their country is destroyed.

The sr71 wasn't the fastest aircraft, it wasn't the fastest air breathing aircraft nor was it the fastest manned aircraft. Those belong to the space shuttle, the mig25 and the bell rocket powered test bed, respectively.

Looking at the triple tube assembly, as shown at 3:54, Starstreak looks anything but easily portable or shoulder fired. It likely weighs at least a couple hundred pounds, not including the support post. Plus the photo shows and attached, beefy electrical cable. That implies there is another electronics and/or power module. If that was not confusing enough, several different systems are shown here. For example, the unit shown at 4:02 is a very different design, with smaller diameter launch tubes. A third system is shown at 4:40, which is much more portable and resembles the Javelin. Finally, a fourth system is shown at 5:08. But, it is unclear if it is a more portable, single tube variant of Starstrek.

It weighs about 14kg. The correct shoulder mounted launcher is shown at 1:55. At 3:54 is a system for launching multiple, varying kinds of missile. This would be transported by vehicle and deployed by two people. This video shows a lot of different systems. Starstreak is the missile itself that comprises of three darts and is laser guided. Can be fired from a range of systems.

@@RobertA-oi6hw oh dear? LOL! Many NATO Countries have been supplying high tech guided WEAPONS to Ukraine, most European countries in fact? Not being foolish I know that if NATO forces were to enter this conflict be it policing a no fly zone or boots on the ground, Russia even with China wouldn't stand a chance conventionally against NATO so would have to go Nuclear ASAP and we would all lose, thats obvious as the Ukrainian forces have shown. The Ukrainian forces need to be supplied with a constant supply of rations, ammo, high tech guided missiles like they have already been supplied and other defensive AA guided missiles, also Ukraine must be supported and supplied humanitarily and after the Ukrainian victory unconditionally helped to rebuild their country. No one in their right mind would want World War Three but Putin and Russia must lose. SLAVA UKRAINI!!!! 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🙏💪👍👍👍👍👊✌️🇬🇧.

@@RobertA-oi6hwOh yee of little faith, Ukraine must be supplied defensive weapons, (what ever that means as these man portable guided weapons have the same role and purpose in defence as attack?) and as policing a no fly zone by NATO would definitely lead to a Nuclear conflagration a better and slightly safer option is to equipt the brave Ukrainian armed forces with decent high tech air defence missile systems to protect Ukrainian civilians. Putin is a War criminal and the ICC and the Hague are waiting. I pray for a swift Ukrainian victory and a lasting peace and to achieve this we must aid Ukraine fully, short of fighting Russia ourselves. Who is going to support putin?? Uk and U.S Germany are supporting Ukraine. 3 countries are supporting Ukraine. How come no others country support Russian? 4 countries against one country. This is not fair. UK and U.S should be a peace Maker on both side. Big country like U.S and UK shouldn’t fight against Russian. Big country should make PEACE. Don’t make the war become worse . PEACE to all man kind. Be careful God’s is watching.
