I like the fact that she took out her in ear monitors so she could feel the drums better. Then she teased us with putting them back, but dropping them and going back into the solo. And her smile takes it to 11.

She is the only drummer I know who uses a drum solo as a brake to catch her breath.

And her smile can be seen from space.

And straight into "Black Hole."

Her drum set up is simple but her skills, technique, speed, stamina, flair, energy and that SMILE make her sound so impressive

Just not enough adjectives in the English language to describe this incredible lady. It all seems so natural and easy for her, but of course that is what makes her so great.

There is a video on (Instrumental Maid) of just Akane showing her feet and hand work at the same time in split screen. You might be surprised that some of what sounds like double peddle is only with just her right foot, of course she does use double peddle on some of it. Her right foot is uncreatable fast.

This was the first time I saw this video and it was great! I don't mind that it's a bit short for a solo because I know that her drumming is always like a solo anyway. The same goes for the other two members, especially Kanami. I know their instrumentation is always complicated and busy!

My favorite part of the solo is Akane's amazing smile!

I went to their Hong Kong show at the end of the 2023, I ran for Kanami's side of the barrier only to find out that I was standing right in front of 4 large sound equipment, so I spent the entire show feeling each and every single one of Akane's kicks.

I love Akane, she has great stamina and her footwork is rock solid. She also plays with great feeling, she is charismatic and adorable, the perfect drummer for Band-Maid (Her performance of "Alone" at the London Comic Con 2016 is legendary and one of my favorites by any drummer). She and the band deserve all the success and recognition they have earned❤️👍... but I wouldn't place her above drummers like Senri, Kanade, Tamu, Marina or Hana Sano

By far, Akane's solo (going into "Blackhole") at Yokohama 2023 was epic. She was "freestyling," not on click track, with ebbs and flow, more like waves in her performance. Next, the show opener at Shibuya 2020 intro to "Rinne" was the best Band Maid show opener ever, Po! "Freedom" lays 3rd, but is iconic, especially riding the click tracking. Akane has always and continues to be my favorite. She selflessly holds down the pocket, so that others may shine, Po! (This coming from a bass player) Btw, I can attest that the live sound at Yokoari was the best of the dozen or so shows I've been to, including TGT. 🦍🍌
