The Labour Party in the United Kingdom has ended the Conservatives' 14-year rule. Keir Starmer has been formally appointed as Britain's new Prime Minister after a landslide victory in the general election on July 4. During a triumphant party rally in central London, the 61-year-old told cheering activists that "change begins here" and promised a "decade of national renewal." He also cautioned that change would not come overnight, despite Labour snatching a swathe of Tory seats around the country, including from nine cabinet ministers and former Prime Minister Liz Truss. Meanwhile, former prime minister Rishi Sunak took full responsibility for his party's defeat.

Humiliation of Indians by the British never stops. 😆 It's literally a crushing defeat for an ethnic Indian candidate. The Indian effort to colonize the British under Sunak failed terribly. 😭😭

Heh I guess so, but I'm pleased to say Rishi Sunak's Indian heritage played no part in the campaign. It was all about policies in the end. I'd have been pretty upset if it had been made about race. If it helps, the next Tory leader is strongly tipped to be Suella Braverman, and she is also of Indian descent.

Rishi was going to save Britain how? By sending a handful of vulnerable asylum seekers to Rwanda? By soaking British rivers in sewage? By cutting taxes for high earners whilst making life intolerable for low earners? By underfunding British infrastructure to dangerous levels?

I never got the sense Rishi was arrogant. Technocratic, aloof and a bit tetchy, but not overbearing. If anything he probably needed to have a much bigger ego because the nutters in his party tended to take advantage of him and walk all over his authority. It was not a good look.
