No PM can get rid of Larry he's a Civil Servant and Civil Servants run the country which every party is in charge. The only thing a PM can do is recommend Larry's retirement then a new cat would be brought in. There's a long list of Chief Mousers at 10 Downing Street.

As an American, its baffling, to see the PM’s #10 front entrance, so close to the security gate. There’s not much of a buffer there. Our white house has several hundred yards of buffer from the gate/fence to the building. Plenty of time for security to take action, against any lone degenerate.

Does he sleep in the same bed as all the previous PMs? That’s practically the main purpose of getting a cat. If you don’t get cats just for the sole purpose of watching them roam around. hence the term “pets”.

Larry the cat deserves better care. He is looking a bit rumpled. One competent owner is better than an entire 'government owing a cat.' - In spite of a measure of neglect, Larry continues to fulfill his duties purrfectly. -There is a hard, narrow window sill outside #10. Larry sleeps on that. Similar to many Brits & due entirely to government failure- this stalwart feline 'sleeps rough' outside Britain's halls of power. Meow! If only Prime Ministers were as dedicated as this brilliant, competent National cat. !!
