This is caused by set aside farmland = the EU did this to stunt the UKs export market & ensure we buy abroad - leaving farms to be sold to fat tories for housing only they sit on that land to increase its value letting it grow " wild wheat" which is dry as a bone & sets on fire easy ,the UK is littered with set aside land im surrounded by farms in suffolk 1 in 6 fields actually grow - this place goes up youll have whole towns homeless :/ not just a small village

@@jeffweingrad4658 the way the suns rays find it hard to penetrate the 'tilted' atmosphere above england (because in relation to the sun the curve of the atmosphere makes it far thicker for the radiation of the sun to penetrate than the hotter equatorial climates with far less atmosphere for the rays to penetrate) which usually results in colder weather. On heatwaves such as this the thicker atmosphere works to trap the heat and humidity in and 'bounce back' the suns radiation back to the ground for a compounding effect.

🚒🧯In California, wild fires are a yearly event. To deal most effectively against them, the Fire Department utilizes water dropping helicopters and fire retardant airplanes. The helicopters can scoop water quickly from a near by source and drop atop the fire. The airplanes can drop fire retardant across hundreds of yards to prevent the fire from spreading. Along with fire fighters on the ground, California is able to put out fires that are hundreds of square miles in size. Would to God, the UK enlist the same fire fighting techniques and assets. From the footage I've seen, these fires are very small compared to what California deals with yearly. If the UK had what's used in California, these fires would be dealt with quickly and decisively. My hope is that decision makers in the UK look to California for advise going forward.

that's the whole resilience challenge - each local culture is [very sensibly] set up in terms of infrastructure and systems and so on to deal with "customary" ranges of weather - climate change shifts those ranges - and then the culture has to play catch-up. And I'd say that California and Australia, and yada yada, as "accustomed" as they are to fire, also need to play some catch-up as they are demonstrably subject to the same stressful type of range-shifts. With all its hotshots and air tankers and phos-chec transports, California HAS lost towns - remember Greenville? remember Paradise? Berry Creek? Grizzly Flats?
