Just wanted to say thank you so much for these amazing videos, they are such a help and may god bless you kind sir, and also I just wanted to inquire, if these examples were used in an exam, would a candidate lose marks due to these examples being decades old compared to newer examples with Sunak and Boris etc?
@nzpaws
@nzpaws Жыл бұрын
No. You’re required to know one example from 1945-1997 and post 1997, there’s no other restriction on the example you use

Hi Alan how did thatcher stick to her guns early I was very confused

Thatcher stuck to her ideology overcoming internal opposition to her policies. Many in the Conservative Party wanted her to move away from the policies of monetarism that had been established early in the 1980s which were proving unpopular as the 1982 election approached. Thatcher stood up against the opposition in her cabinet and refused to change course. A combination of demand for North Sea Oil helping the economy and her performance in the Falklands War meant that she won the election and defeated the dissenting voices in her cabinet and party. She can therefore be seen as ideologically driven and through determination to stick to her ideas getting to the position that she dominated her cabinet.
