Received mine yesterday, July 8, 2023, though sightly different. Came with a *soft* case, capo, extra strings, strap and posts installed (no tuner). Amazon $49.99.

Thank you for the review! You are always so very thorough and I appreciate that. This is an interesting uke that I’ve been on the fence about for a while. I was surprised to hear that you prefer the sound on the enya over the outdoor uke. The price is still at $59.99 while other companies have definitely went up on every ukulele over the past year, that’s a pretty cool thing to see. Might need to grab one before it does actually go up lol

That's a nice soprano ukulele but I'm one of the ones who misses strap buttons! Aklot concert mahogany bundle can be purchased $10 cheaper with strap buttons and nice strap. They are two different beasts, however. Both great in their own way.

@@danielgermain9646 - I changed one of my Aklot sopranos to linear GDAE tuning... Wow, what a pain to change strings... and the A string snapped before finished, so I had to buy SeaGuar 20 lb line to battle that one all over again... I followed a KZfaq video and cut little pieces from a pen ink tube to make ball ends, and then followed Rich Davis' tutorial on feeding through the sound hole. I hope to only have to restring a few times in my lifetime (I'm already a senior citizen).

Really comprehensive and helpful review. I've got the concert version and enjoy it. Do you think it would benefit from a top sound hole? Also, hope Enya bring out a range of colours. Best wishes.

I don't think you would get any more sound out of the concert version with a traditional sound hole; there is probably some study of what the minimum size of a sound hole should be to allow for the sound to escape; I'm sure both the soprano and the concert are above that threshold; and in theory, a smaller sound hole should allow for more vibration with more surface area on the soundboard. But I'm not a sound engineer/architect.

If you like sopranos, it is a very nice plastic-based ukulele. No question about it.

Very thorough review. Thank you. I mentioned the following on another review, but I'm trying to reach as many viewers as I can, so I'll ask here, as well. I don't like how the frets blend in with the fretboard. It's hard for me to place my fingers right near the fret if I can't see it. If there is a way to color or paint the carbon fiber frets, please share what product can be used and, hopefully, whether the strings can just be moved out of the way rather than removed. I really like this soprano, but the frets are frustrating.

You could carefully tape off each fret and try painting the frets with automotive “chip” paint, which should be about as tough as you can buy in terms of paint. My friend Ukester Brown found that the paired frets of the Maccaferri ukuleles, many still perfectly metal looking, had aluminum in the mixture. I don’t think you’ll find that today, but automotive paint pens, maybe a silver or gold to match the tuners, is worth a shot.

@@UkeStuff - Thank you so much for the info! I don't know much about car products, but I'll look for an automotive pen. And I'll loosen the strings so I can tape them out of the way. What a relief that I don't have to remove them. Thanks for you help! Update: I couldn't find an automotive paint pen, but I found out about Sharpie having a silver color. I used that to color the frets. Looks great if you don't get up too close and see uneven lines. Not sure if it will last or will rub off eventually, but I'm really pleased with the result for now.

Thanks Chris, Maybe when the metal frets come I'd be more interested, I much prefer the look of wood though.The wider string spacing at the nut would be a plus for me. My daughter has an inexpensive Victory ukulele that has a wide string spacing as it crosses the saddle, 1/4" wider than what I had been playing. Very nice for finger picking. As far as sustain goes, you only need "enough", on and on does nothing for you.

I haven't tried a Victory ukulele...I'll have to contact them. While I do reach out, there's no guarantee that anyone responds. I have an Ortega Hydra where the second set of strings causes an odd sustain that is too much. There's a happy medium somewhere, a threshold where sustain is "just right" and natural. This one is less than that, for sure. The metal frets will only be on the tenor.

Thanks Chris I always looking forward for your opinion on ukulele it is enjoyable. Do you know for the Tenor what would the nut width be? The fusion strap button from outdoor I read it somewhere that someone bought it and try to use it on Flight Travel uke it got abs body and it wouldn't stick at all. I am thinking may be 3m command strip might work, if fusion really failed.

I don't know what they'll do with the nut on the tenor. I will say that the Flight TUS and TUSL ABS has a texture, unlike an Outdoor Ukulele, Lava U, or the Enya Nova U. So it makes sense to me that it wouldn't work for that application. However...for the smooth Enya finish, it is worth a try, and I'll probably buy some to find out. I would not put strap buttons on this one (although I have put them on other plastic ukuleles), especially not being able to see or reach inside!

@@UkeStuff Yeah probably that's why it wouldn't stick. I wonder where's the good spot to put them so the structure won't be weakened. I am really hoping the Nova U tenor would be 38mm at nut like their EUT-X1. Outdoor tenor just too pricey for me right now.
