Ukraine devastated a Russian armoured attack on the town of Kupyansk, amid heavy fighting between the two sides in western Luhansk oblast. Video shows two Russian tanks and two armoured vehicles attacking the Ukrainians, past the destroyed remains of several earlier attacks. But this one fares no better, as the column is hit by mines, suicide drones, and anti-tank missiles, turning it into a smouldering wreck. Russian troops struck back, using artillery and their own suicide drones to destroy a Ukrainian arms dump, and set a tank alight. But it was only minor damage compared to their failed attack, as a second angle showed the tanks and armoured vehicles exploding under heavy fire.

To recap: Lead mine-clearing tank appears to hit mine and is disabled. Rest of column tries to reverse, rear apc hit by drone and disabled, soldiers dismount. Column starts taking fire (from Bradley ?) Second apc hit by drone, not disabled, soldiers dismount. Driver of second tank panics, reverses, almost roles over dead or wounded comrade, turns around and runs over a mine and is obliterated. Driver of second apc seeing what happens, panics, tries to driver around wreckage, is taken under fire from (Bradley ?) and almost makes it back to the cleared (?) path when it too runs over a mine.

@@flesz_ I certainly wouldn't let myself be sent to war after a few days of training. Not only is it cruel, but it is also ineffective. Equipment worth several million dollars destroyed because the Russians lack time to train soldiers.

One weapon I haven't seen used much in this conflict is the TOW missile & wonder if used at all in this particular battle 🤔? Clearly see tracers from what looks to be Bradley 25mm tracer rounds were clearly visible but seems mines were major factor here.

TOW missiles proved to be very ineffective in an area with many trees. Rockets are often erected from branches or bushes. Therefore, we usually use them when the enemy is in a clear field and when nothing grows on its side)

@@o4ertan1e Please correct me if I'm wrong. I think the BGM-71 TOW, being a wire-guided system, firing it from q treeline or bush concealed positions is problematic due to risk of wires becoming entangled in the nearby vegetation as the missile is manouvred to hit its target.

@@MatheusHenrique-mr4ed This is not entirely true, the rocket itself detonates on contact with branches, and you are right about the great risks of using it in an open field, besides, the Russians use active protection on tanks in large numbers. This is not Iraq, we are at war with a highly technological country, and they are not going to just die, they are constantly changing the tactics of waging war according to the realities they find themselves in.

A large amount of vegetation makes its adjustments, and to top it all, the Russians also constantly adapt to the realities they find themselves in, and change their tactics. Russian tanks are lacking in state-of-the-art armor. ....The potent shells inside the turrets are unprotected. That's why we're seeing the giant 'secondary' explosions. Their fuel tanks probably quarter inch thick steel.

No dude, leopards protect it's crews and ammo storage, they get burned from outside, they are disabled from combat but are fixable, 99% of lost leo's were just sent to service to be fixed. Russian tanks are famous for ammo storage sharing space with crew, one shot there and whole tank is destroyed. It almost never happens in western tanks as ammo and crew is well protected. You cannot even fathom gap in technology and design.

Tanks have always been very vulnerable. The point of a tank is more about the large gun on the tank than the armor. The armor is just there to make it last a bit longer. Infantry screening has been pretty provably required to use tanks adequately for as long as tanks have been around, though some militaries took longer than others to realize, and some militaries unlearn this basic fact from time to time.

1:15 Those look like the tracer rounds of a Bradley 25mm autocannon. And since Bradley's come with TOW missiles, I wonder if they used the TOW on the tank and then the 25mm on the BMP?

This is not being "destroyed under heavy fire", at least the first three tanks are taken out by mines. Which makes me wonder how a tank column send into a minefield (which is ridicolous by itself) is not led by a mine clearing vehicle but a tank that explodes when hitting the first mine...?

I ran an outdoor rock climbing park in northern Thailand. Many youngsters from around the world came through and everyone had wonderful experiences there. More than a few were Ukrainian and Russian men and women tourists in their late teens and twenties. Often, we'd work and play together. This was between 2012 and 2018. Sad to think that some of those folks are being blown to shreds in Ukraine - all thanks to Putin.

Both sides use drones as well as artillery to place mines, so,you can clear a path and mines are laid right behind the mine clearer to get the next tank. One shell has about 7 mines,.

No creas todo lo que ves.. muchas de las explosiones son editadas por programas de computadora , para intimidar mas.. Una mina no causa semenajnte destruccion.. So en falso.. hasta todos los soldados pueden irse del tanque.. en la guerra , la verdad es la primera victima.. Es pura propaganda britanica , que intentan subirle la moral a los ucranianos con videos de diferentes meses de la guerra , haciendolo ver como que fue una sola batalla. Si tan mal estan los Rusos como ellos dicen por que siguen capturando territorio ?

Dude, when you find your tank in a tank mine field, stop and exit on foot. Your chance of triggering a mine on foot might be much less than continuing to run a 20 ton tank.

@@jordach545 Ok… maybe it was just the camera angle then… it had the appearance of being fired from above rather than at ground level but I know it’s often difficult to discern direction sometimes from these drone footage shots. Wasn’t sure if Ukraine suddenly had access to A-10 Warthogs lol

Yeah, I saw it too but wasnt sure if I was correct, I saw the other 2 crewmen leave the tank but this one couldnt. It must have been horrible for him, but that tank is suppossed to be a t64 and I thought only ukraine had those on the field? I really hope it wasnt a ukrainian tank.

because they were likely disoriented at that point. they probably didn't know where they were getting shot from. Also, many of these people get minimal training.
