I was in the SCS , it’s like the SAS and SBS but a LOT better . We have the 380 miler which has to be completed in under 8 hours with a 200 kg Bergen , I completed it in 2 hours and I’d like to thank easy jet ✈️ for that , it was one of the best flights I’ve ever had .

But they had a much better diet. Today's soldiers are fed a lot of crap which isn't good. A proper diet with zero carbs/sugar would work but it will never be trialled so we'll never know.

Besides this event, there's, well, maybe still 2 other good ones being the Ten Tors Expedition on Dartmoor and the Welsh 3000 on Snowdon.

I’ve heard from several different ex regiment guys the cutoff is more like 17 hours depending on conditions.

Wow that's insane

That’s incorrect. Arguably that is the average finish time although some have done sub 13 hours.

@markturner6755 Absolutely dependant on weather the cutoff when I did it in a bad winter was 20hrs and I just did it in time. 9 passed that time. As well as the bergan you also have a belt kit 8 -10 lbs and a rifle, 12lbs with no sling. So to hand at all times

You have also done nav1 and nav2 over the preceeding 2 days both fan dance length so you start knackered 😅

@@davidelms4165 Nav1 & 2? I’m not sure if we’re talking about the same selection mate. Your knackered because it’s the last tab of the hills phase and you’ve just done the rest of test week immediately before and loadstones the week before that. Having 9 personnel complete that phase does not sound like the same course.

Cheese and jam sandwiches. That is Army processed cheese which came in a round tin and was known as 'Cheese Possessed' pinch of salt and sugar in your waterbottle. Didn't have smart drinks in the day. And pro plus caffeine tablets😊

You get sick of mars bars etc after a while. Curiously one Rollo was good for 15mins walking. I know it sounds strange but you could definitely feel the effect when you are on your chin strap

What's your training programs for these. How long do you prep.

I maintain a high level of fitness which means I train 6 out of 7 days including runs, cycling, outdoor bootcamps gym and loadbearing training tabs on Box Hill which is my nearest hill to where I live. So at any time I can drop everything and do a tab like this. Rather than prep for specific events I try to always be ready for them. Having said that if I have an actual race coming up my ritual is to do a fast 24km minimum loadbearing tab the weekend before.

@@HardRoutine_TOTWYou must really enjoy pain 😂 I hated tabbing mainly because of my short legs boot runs with webbing and weapon was another pet hate of mine but I must admit its a great sense of achievement and always helps the weekend hangover 😂 good luck
