This is a very quick tutorial on the basic of improvisation for beginners on Ukulele. it is aimed at showing basic finger pattern, as well as notes you can play in order to improvise smoothly. This is the most straightforward tutorial ever make, If you are a beginner, you will need to practice the fingerpattern a bit on your own before being able to play along, but as long as you get the general idea you are good to go!
This is about improvising, it’s not about playing over a backing track or playing a specific song, it’s about creating your own, it’s about expressing yourself and learning how to do it using a ukulele.

FEEDBACK TIME🎉! I know the struggle of learning the ukulele, but I also know how rewarding it can be to someone’s life. I want to attract more and more people to learn this beautiful instrument and express their feelings with it. GOOD NEWS: I have a TON of IDEAS to make that possible. BAD NEWS: Because this is very new on KZfaq, I still don’t have enough views to get clear feedback from the viewers. HOW TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE? 1. Leave a few words in the comments about where you currently are in your ukulele journey, what little struggles are currently holding you back, and even more importantly, how’s the weather outside for you ☀️🌧️? 2. Receive some of my gratitude! Thank you!

I going on two months now playing the uke, am still learning my way around the fretboard, do I do that by playing chords in different positions and scales also. I also play chords progressions for songs. I loving the experience don't matter if am strumming or just using broken chords.

Thanks for sharing that! If I understood correctly you’re asking for tips on how to accelerate this process of learning how to navigate the fretboard. A LOT of people here have expressed the same concern. I’m working on videos to tackle that. It seems that you’re on the right track, from the top of my mind I’d suggest you to pay special attention to the patterns (chord shapes) on the fretboard. eg: Which shape is major vs minor.

Hi .. a 73 yo beginner (Cyprus, Larnaca, 41 C) I am a Patreon of Bernadette, Matt Dahlberg and Lara. I have been doing some short lessons e.g. Bernadette 30 days Challenge, UkelikethePro 9 days strumming. I try to improve my accuracy (play along Ukealiens and blues backing tracks) I practice Diatonic/ Chromatic scales and key C Pentatonic) daily, I progress but ,, very very slowly .. I have not completed one complete song in 5 months, Im concerned I soon wil loose interest .. I have not been able to find anybody on the island (Cyprus) to share experience- ideas with. Soon I will go to the Netherlands for 3 months .. I will try to find advice (,. Not very hopeful I live in an isolaared - rural area) Any advise?

First of all thanks a lot for this nice & long message. Learning Ukulele is a very personal journey and I believe many people are feeling the same way as you do. In fact, myself first when I had started, I wasn’t “able to play songs” early on and I was concerned about that too, until I realized it was because I just enjoyed playing… differently (free solo improvisation 😄). When we think of “progress/success”, I think we could move away from the “how many songs can you play” or “in how many keys can you play”… Rather, focusing on how much pleasure you take out from the instrument and focus on making this pleasure grow! Once you understand what you like it gives you a vision, then with a vision you can better understand what skills you need to work on in order to “progress” :) -> Try and play whatever you already learned from other creators on KZfaq and take a moment to breath and feel inside. There’s probably a lot going on
