It is a great exclusive guide for discovering how to play the ukulele like a pro without the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my m8 got great results with it.

My Great-great Grandfather's name was Robert Napunako Boyd. This song was written for him by Queen Liliuokalani about the feelings she had for him, as she left his home in Mauna Wili Valley. He was a sea Captain that became very important to Kamehameha, was the first Harbor Master in Hawaii, and the first King's Admiral for his fleet. The King gave my GGGF the land, and he turned it into a large farm, producing many essential produce for the Honolulu Market in the mid-1800s. The Queen and my GGGF had a love "interest", but after several weeks at his farm estate, she sadly was made to return to the palace in Honolulu because of her duties. She penned this song of love because of her sadness/love relating to leaving him. When it was first presented it was a very lovely tribute. But now, it is thrown around like a popular pineapple-eating-grass-skirt-wearing-tourist song completely lacking the intention or reason why the song was written. You are mistaken, this IS NOT the song the Queen wrote as she shed her tears for her people as she was put under ARREST BY THE ILLEGAL coup by the United States!!! Please read the real history of the stealing of Hawaii lands, and how The Kingdom Of Hawaii still exist, and was recognized this century by the World courts, the U.N. and the Hague. Thank you.

English translation The rain proudly lulls by the cliff And quietly brushes through the forest It hones in at the core The Lehua Flower of the vale. [Chorus:] Goodbye, goodbye The sweet and gentle one living in the distance One fond embrace I leave Until we meet again Fond memories bring me back And renew sweet ones Of times past Goodbye, my love You are mine regardless [Chorus] I realize your beauty The fragrant rose of Maunawili Right over there, by the lovebirds Drinking its nectar.

"Queen Lili‘uokalani (1838-1917), born in Honolulu and the daughter of a high chief and chieftess, was the first sovereign queen, and the last monarch of Hawai‘i. Lili‘uokalani dedicated much of her reign to restoring native Hawaiian rights, but a group of American plantation and business owners, backed by the U.S. military, staged a coup to overthrow her in 1893."

@@Lucifer-cc8qx They're over exaggerating. Every song she has written, were danced to with hula. So therefore, they shouldn't be so hesitant to connect with her sorrow. The song was originally written when Queen Liliu'okalani saw two lovers said goodbyes before they depart. This is before she transcribed later now referenced to her overthrow. Even if it's about her, why else she shared this song with her people? To sympathize a lover, losing something she hold dear to her heart. Idk about you guys, but that scene with Lilo and Nani, portrays very well with this song.

I have been listening to this song all day as I pray for the people of Maui. I cannot imagine the loss they are feeling right now. The devastation of the fires is unreal. They say it is raining in Maui today. Perhaps it is the tears of Queen Liliuokalani for her people. They are praying the rain will clear the mountain range & reach Lahainah 🌧️ 💔 🌸 To hear this beautiful song sung in a time of loss like this helps because its meaning runs so deep and conveys that hope follows sorrow 💔🌧️🌈

Thank you for sharing this performance! We traveled to the Hawaiian Islands for the first time, last year. We will never forget seeing your wonderful islands and meeting your warm and friendly people. We live in Florida, so Hawaii is far away. I will keep this recording as a wonderful reminder of our magical experience. My best and warmest good wishes to you!...Will Ortiz (Central Florida, USA)

This afternoon I purchased my first Ukulele and thanks to you guys this is the first tune I have learnt. For me I have always associated this song with Hawaii and the Ukulele. As a kid in the late 60's and early70's this tune was always the one the movies used whenever there was a scene set in the South Pacific. I have always wanted to learn it and now I can thanks to you guys. Many thanks from a happy Ukulele novice in England

I'm glad to hear this song in the Hawaiian language. Until now I only knew it in English under the name "Until We Meet Again" performed by Goombay Dance Band from the 70s. Thank you fpr your performance.

We sing this to all the missionaries that leave to serve around the world. Fond memories of my Ohana sending me off to my mission in Brazil to this mele. Long live our beloved Queen Lili'uokalani and may we always Mālama each other and keep Aloha in our Pu'uwais.

spacedaddy101 I don't hate it, I just think it's overhyped. Not as cool as people think it is, especially the morons from there.
