For Christmas, my family purchased an Ullo Wine Purifier! We all loved how well it worked for us and its efficacy at eliminating the morning-after headaches! I highly recommend purchasing and using this filtration system if you have a sensitivity to sulfites, tend to get bad headaches from even a single glass of wine, or simply love the idea of drinking wine in its original state prior to the sulfite additives.

Mom gifted this to me bout 2 years ago but I never took the time to understand the reason behind it until just today. Awesome product ! Now that I know it 86s the headache I am excited to put it to use and gift to my friends!

I feel moved (mostly by the wine I've just drunk) but also by how pleased I am with this device. I don't just get the headache symptoms of a Sulphite allergy, I also (only in the last few years mark you) get the full blown asthma symptoms as well. Well, I took a punt on this after doing my research and have found it does exactly what it says it does! I have in the last hour drunk half a bottle of Sancerre, on which is written 'contains sulphites', and I am clear as a bell and pleasantly tipsy. :)

Your instructions were better than those that came with the device. For starters, I removed the small plastic piece as I could not get the parts to re-assemble with the filter added. I’ll have to try that again with the next bottle. Also, my instructions don’t say anything about aeration. As a result I ignored the the air reference and passed red without aerating. Silly me. It makes sense now. So far good with the filtration however!

Great video!! Thumbs up! I actually recently received an Ullo wine purifier as a gift and after three separate times of use (drinking on average 3 glasses of wine per use) no headache whatsoever the next morning!! Love this thing! Cheers man!

Curious what’s the powder like substance in the filter package ?? Is it safe to no dust off and filter or should I dust it off first ??? Great gadget by the way !!! Day one and I’m satisfied 😊

The material inside is a substrate that sulfites bind to, which removes them from your wine! It’s non-toxic and certainly won’t hurt you if it got into your wine! That said, I always clean mine off before use :)

How many glasses or how many times can we use the filter before we have to change it?

As advertised, you're supposed to change it after each bottle, or 3 hours. I think they state this to show that you shouldn't keep the filter in for days on end until a bottle is finished. It should be used for a single evening and then discarded. I think the main driver for limiting it to one bottle as well is to prevent wines from being accidentally mixed from residue from a bottle residing in the filter and then mixing slightly with a second bottle.

Just use the filter on one large bottle, pour into a craft then you get better bang for your buck.

Hi, can you please tell me whats the difference between Air and non-air mode ?

Air will aerate your wine while non-air will not! You basically want it on “air” for red wines and “non-air” for white wines!

should have done a blind study for headaches so the subjects do not know whether the wine has been filtered. This reduces the possibility of a placebo effect.

I totally agree that it’s possible. For years and years though, I’ve seen my mom have one glass of wine and be completely down and out the next day from the headache she would have. The fact that she didn’t even have the slightest headache and she drink more than a single glass (which she never does) was pretty compelling evidence! Obviously you don’t know her so she doesn’t have that credibility, but we weren’t even going to post this video if that test didn’t work. We were blown away when it did.

I'm simply explaining to you how an actual experiment is supposed to be designed so that the results can be validly interpreted. It takes just a little additional effort to do it right - while a flawed experiment has little value beyond anecdotal testimony. Science matters.

Luckily this is KZfaq and not a scientific journal! Haha I’m just sharing my personal experience. My goal wasn’t to get published in scholarly articles with this video! I’m an engineer by education, I certainly know how to properly move through the scientific process to come to an academic answer. You can choose to not believe my results if you want, that’s fine, nobody’s forcing you to.
