Still a good Vid ^^ And with the Guide - Its good for new PC builders. I did kind of the same thing with my PC. I came from an old i5-4460 with a GTX 1060 6GB and I upgraded EVERYTHING!!! I went with an MSI X370 Gaming Pro, R7 1700X, BeQuiet Silent Base 600, CM MasterLiquid 240 my old Asus Dual GTX 1060. My Build was working fine but I didn`t like the looks of it. Then I sold my X370 Board to a Friend who got the R7 1700 and got myself the Aorus X470 Gaming 7 Wifi. The Case and AIO were sold to another friend and now I´m rocking a Corsair Crystal Series 680x and their H150i 360 AIO, Vengeance RGP Pro, iCUE Lighting and STILL my GTX 1060. (Now I like Performance AND looks and with RGB I can change like nearly everything) [Its also Overclocked to 4GHz all Core - my first OC ever] But comming back to the Vid Topic - My thoughts are: I have a friend I wanted to get into PC Gaming on a cheap and I gave him my old i5 System with an old R9 270X GPU is getting my 1060 as an Upgrade and I will buy the cheapest RTX 2080ti, sell my AIO and custom watercool my system with Corsairs HydroX - OR - should I just take the prettiest GPU which would be cheaper than a Custom Loop? I´m so undecided now and with Ampere leaks I´m even more. My PC was at first the "Most performance money can buy" but now I changed to "No Compromises" and thats where the GTX 1060 has to go.

I pretty much never spend extra for aesthetics on my builds... probably just old habits from my early build days back in the 90s when everything was a white or beige box with solid side panels. While I like neat cable management, it's more for practical reasons than looks. But for my last build, I seriously considered spending an extra $100-$200 purely for aesthetics. Being a bit of a contrarian at heart, I decided to either embrace the "ugly" ketchup and mustard look... or embrace the "ugly" Noctua beige and brown look. At the end I did neither, as right around this time RAM and GPU prices went crazy-go-nuts, so that $100-$200 was soaked up by component price increases... But next build later this year, I'm going to try and embrace something historically considered "ugly" and try to make it look good.

Kyle! I used the motherboard from your latest "Build This", the Gigabyte DS3H, but the Wifi Variant. A heads up, it only has a fan header for the CPU and one extra system fan. That's it. I had to use a fan controller to add in my front case fans that came with my case. Still solid launching point for a build. Just made a solid gaming rig for my nephew following that rough build guide and adding a used 970 which he'll be getting for Christmas. I think all in in at like $425 including the fan controller I had to pick up.

The only thing that really increased the expense in my build was needing a white or silver motherboard. Choices there are very very limited so I ended up having to go with the B450m Mortar Titanium. Normally if you didn't need the upgrade to the better motherboard that would be great but it's expensive and limited so you have to order it, nobody had it in stock. The only thing left is my watercooling loop for my gpu and deciding what I"m going to use to tint the water royal blue.

for anyone watching, noctua doesn't recommend the NF-F12's as a case fan, but rather for a radiator/ cpu fan. However, the NF-S12A is best for cases out of their line up. You can grab them on amazon for only 22 bucks each and well worth it if you have noisy case fans.
