We use a 9 x 14 cake pan that I turned upside down and put wooden drawer knobs for a lid. Sits a bit taller and I think would fit what you are doing here just fine.

Hey Mathew H. Glad you saw this and THANX for the info. I'm 'burned out' on gas grilling and already hauled that old thing away ... don't miss the nasty old propane "Heat, Not The Meat" taste. That gas grill never had the balls it takes to start a good sear on anything and having to keep the lid closed made for way to much gas smoke "flavor". Thanks again . I getting one of those Blackstones!

Betty Moorman We had a derecho storm hit us in Iowa, 8/10/2020. We were without power for 35 hours. I cooked all our meals on the griddle. I haven't used our gas grill since we got the griddle. I absolutely love it. My husband bought it for my birthday (my request), but I wish we had the 36", I have the 28". I wasn't sure how much I would use it. I would love the 36" with the air fryer. The only thing stopping me is the price. I'm going to watch for a sale.

One thing that works great for potatoes is to put them in an aluminum pan, season them with butter, bacon grease, salt, pepper, and seasoning salt in the pan. Cover with foil, cook on grill for about 20 minutes or so. Once they are soft, dump on grill with bacon, peppers, onions or whatever you want to add. Amazing!

The ranch doesn't curddle or burn? They looked freaking amazing! Just curious on the ranch in the hot skillet.

Looks great. Love my blackstone but wish I was more food creative. I feel there is not enough things to cook. that are different

Looks yummy as hell. You should try this but do hash browns. Either way it's hard to beat a dish like this.

Hi HH, yeah.....I love hashbrowns, but I usually grate the potatoes by hand, and I just cook them in an iron 10-12" skillet (I forget how large it is. But it makes great hashbrowns. I love them so much I end up making them the same way every time....lol. But I bet cheesy hashbrowns would be great too. Didn't know if you had ever tried it, or thought of it, but it's hard to screw up potatoes and cheese....lol. Thanks for the feedback.....I subscribed to your channel. I think I might learn some good tips from you, and maybe share a few of my own too. I think it only fair to pitch in....yanno? :)

Wow, been so long. Pretty low for the potatoes so they cook through at first then higher at the end.

I would probably put a layer of potatoes down before the ranch. Then add the rest of the potatoes. Just to keep the ranch out of the oil

The place where these Tommy Texas Cheese fries come from put the ranch down first , then potatoes. We love the way they're done. Guess it doesn't matter really. Cannot go wrong with ranch and potatoes.

Great idea and recipe !! But curious as to the convenience factor for a one dish cook on the griddle, wouldn’t have just been easier to roast this in the oven for 40 or 45 minutes instead of having to stand there and watch over it the whole time ? You still ended up with a skillet to wash.
@thehungryhussey
@thehungryhussey 4 жыл бұрын
You could go in the oven too. I did it to do it really, but honestly it's much more fun outside. Also the smells and heat are out of the house.

If you par boil those potatoes prior to throwing them on the griddle, it will (obviously) reduce your cook time. All you have to do is put a crisp on them.

Can you share the Blackstone size or model that you bought, and whether you think the size if good for your needs? I’ve been debating the 28 vs the 36 inch. Thank you!!!

Hi! New to the blackstone. Been debating on getting one and doing research. It is just me and my husband. And we would love one. Had initially thought of getting a 17" tabletop version but now am thinking of getting a bigger version after watching you cook in these videos! Dang man! What have u done? I am a huge penny pincher so now I have to do some convincing to my folks to get this 36" for me and hubby for our birthdays that are just a month apart in july and august!. We will buy the accessories ourselves!

For just you and your husband only, the 22" set with table and hood is a nice unit. Accessories you need spatulas, bottles, paper towel holder, pans, IR gun, are a few.
