Demons architects: Walls of flesh, intestine walls, souls walls (?), impaled guys everywere, hearts on pedestals... but we must put these poison signs in there, don't want nobody getting hurt!

This map rocks. You get to choose a couple different directions to go to start, the textures remind you of being in Hell (I especially like the pillars of intestines circling around, it's pretty creepy), and you finally get your hands on the game's first BIG FUCKING GUN! :D

I also love the textures in this map. (almost) every level has awesome textures but this one really did an awesome job. Also ya gotta love the BIG FUCKING GUN!

Wow. Nice music (Deep Into the Code) played here. Also, LOL at the comments: "Hello, Imp. You're dead." "Will you just die already? Thank you, Lost Soul." Kinda like how BFG stands for... for want of a better term... Big Freakin' Gun. Nice vid, BTW.

This map is a real challenge with primary weapons. Start this with the single player launch feature of DM.exe. Type Episode 3 Map 3. The challenge is to preserve ammunition. From the start what I did is to run into the left, middle and right areas and leave immediately. Then the monsters battle each other so I can save that ammunition.

This was the first map where I realised that Doomguy don't take damage when falling from high up ledges. Actually, up to this level I hadn't seen any other with high ledges or platforms (E1M6 perhaps, at the end of the poison corridor). I do think Doom engine was very good for its age, bringing many improvements from Id Software's previous game (Wolf3D), such as dark and high/low areas... and the interesting fact that the player can take damage from some floors but not from falling, only from Duke3D and Blood I saw the player die when falling from high up places. Anyway, I like this map and also like to use the invunerability to get to the lava part before finishing the level, so I can go with 200% health and ammo for E1M4, which is much harder. And agree this soundtrack is awesome, one of the best in Doom, and think it could have been used in more levels, apart from here and E4M3.

In the snes version of doom, all those giant eye symbols,eye statues and those flesh textures were absent, i was totally forgotten how more gorish the pc version really is, and that despites those skeleton textures on walls are still presented in the snes version, pretty strange.

Mac if you ever get the change you should play the Mac or the 3do versions of Wolf 3D. They are by far the best versions, They have 90 levels, all the console port only levels, all the Dos levels, remastered music, better graphics, plays better, and some exclusive secrets (2-8 maze is completely different). And is a lot harder because some the enemies placement is different and sometimes there is way more.

I hate that the movie says that BFG is Bio-Force Gun. It's obviously Big Fucking Gun.
@doomguy26857 жыл бұрын
The name "Bio Force Gun" was meant to give it a more scientific name. You're not going to use the word "fuck" in a scientific name. That's why The Rock says it when he gets it. "Bio Force Gun" was for realism. "Big Fucking Gun" was for the fans. =D

I'm playing the version on xbox arcade as I originally played the versions on PlayStation. However, I'm finding that the punch on xbox takes forever to kill the demons and they damage you like mad in the process. Am I doing something wrong or is it that they have updated the game since to make it more difficult?
