Nicely done! That black swirl pattern is top notch. Came out great all around 👍

Good job with the serving tray, I like it! If anyone lives near central Tennessee (or doesn't mind a trip), I have rough cut, live-edge hardwood lumber for sale. I don't ship at this time. I have hard maple, spalted maple, red oak, hickory, elm, cherry, and Eastern Red Cedar, among others. Various thicknesses, mostly 5/4. Most of it has been air dried under roof for a few years.

That’s a beautiful board. I made one similar but I used the black onyx , and I wondered what the battleship gray looked like. The one I made is going to be used as a cutting board. And yes make more of them.

Thank you! I hopped over to your channel looking to see the black onyx board you made, but I didn't see any videos. I was also curious how the black would have turned out. Thanks for the support!

Thank @Custom Grains. I just completed a very, very interesting cutting board that I think you will like. I will probably post a sneak peek on my TikTok later today so you will probably see it before others do here on KZfaq. More to come...!

Well done. Are the handles simple cabinet/drawer handles?

Thank you! And yes, they are simple cabinet handles with a wide spread. It's simple and very sturdy, given the weight of the board.

One thing to get out of the way first; ripping the slab down at the table saw without a fence isn't the safest way to do it. I don't have a tracksaw either; a sawboard with some grip tape on the bottom is a cheap but very serviceable alternative to a tracksaw. I definitely see a tracksaw in my future though. That said, amazing job on the board dude! Serving trays are excellent projects for a CNC! Something you could do that I've seen is make the board as you did, then use the onefinity to carve a design (logo, monogram, phrase, geometric design, etc.), then fill the carving with a different colored epoxy. Finally, the whiteside 6210 is an excellent bit for surfacing, and not too expensive. I can't wait to get my onefinity!

The Sawboard is a good idea - I will do that next time as it sounds much safer. If I end up doing more of these I may get creative with the CNC and add some customizations to it. I am absolutely loving having the CNC in the shop... it's like having a highly skilled unpaid intern! I will look into the Whiteside 6210. It looks like its ~$30 on amazon, which is reasonable for good quality bit. I bought a cheaper variant of that bit to do the spoilboard for my CNC but it didn't last very long.

@@EigenDesigns In my 17 years of woodworking, whiteside bits have never let me down. They're amazing quality and priced very fairly. I'm so excited to get my onefinity! I can't wait to start tinkering with it and seeing what I can come up with. Looking forward to more of your CNC projects!

I just used the white side bit to surface a cutting board and it rocks!! Thanks for the great tip.

Just caught this...excellent job on the video and voiceover bud. Keep it up. Question for you. I've seen other makers use the same technique for finishing after they've put on the hardware. Why not finish the board prior to attaching handles and feet? Just curious. Thanks for the video. I'll be doing some of these in the next week or two.

I guess there is no good reason to do it one way over another. I have done it both ways in the past and the project turns out the same no matter which way you do it.
