This is one of the best truck camper videos I have watched. It's a normal guy talking about things that normal people want/need to know.

I purchased a used 1996 N L and I love it. I am 76 and enjoy traveling and visiting friends in my camper. I drive an F-150 that carries the 1,600 lbs weight plus my clothes and gadgets very well. Nice review. We have a 2017 Northern Lite 8.11 SE wet bath and love it. That quality of these campers is fantastic and they are truly not only top of the line but 4 season as well.

I've had a camper like this but much larger. When you're a large person and middle-aged to older, you need all the Grim you can get. It's very hard to get up in that overhead bunk when you're older, and it also gets very hot and very cold and it's all so noisy in that overhead bunk when it rains. RV buyers should pay attention to the dinette bed, cuz that's where a lot of people sleeping compared to the overhead bunk, and there's a good amount of people who sleep on the floor of the camper. Camper is nice because it's very mobile you can get around a lot of small areas, and if the truck breaks down, you can always buy a used truck somewhere and put the camper back on and take off it doesn't ruin your whole vacation. I had a motorhome get crunched in the front fender, and it took good three to four months to get it repaired and I said I would have been better off just selling it for parts, is it ruined the whole summer plus I had to pay all the airfare back and forth Trying to get the motorhome fixed. With a truck if it gets wrecked you can ditch it and get something else used or new. I just wish they made the back door wider, And a center Island a little wider for a wheelchair so more seniors could use it. I have seen people put a large lounge chair in there and they just sleep in the lounge chair So they don't have to make up the dinette are go the overhead bunk area.. all of these campers should be designed so the roof is perfect shape for solar panels. Also the rear patio awning should have side panels, so it becomes a nice separate room And is usable for buggy areas. also remember that the sewer connection is kind of low to the ground in these truck campers, a lot of people hold their backs And are in pain for days after using a sewer connection so low to the ground. A generator and a solar panel is a must for these units.

We just got tired of walking on aluminum so I did the same thing as you but with indoor/outdoor carpeting in our toy hauler.. makes all the difference in the world. Great review. Proudly made in Canada. I wish that Northern Lite would modernize the look of their campers. I'm sure that they are of great quality but they look like they were built fifteen years ago.

WoW!!!! can I just say I have been binge watching van tours and the videos that correlate to the van life and I got to say as a single female ...I would almost rather own this baby as first choice. The only reason I would not would be the safety factor of getting up in drivers seat in the event of emergency and needing to move quickly. if that could be modified somehow I know this is the route 100 % ....what an awesome set up. perfect for getting lost in adventure💚💚💚💯 thank u for sharing

I have a 2015 10-2EXCD....I have it on my 2009 F-350 SRW.... I camp in it full time April to Nov in the Rocky Mountains. I rarely camp in campgrounds, mostly boondocking. I have taken my TC everywhere...mining roads, through the woods, over mountain passes, places that I probably shouldn't have gone. I have had not one problem with my Northern Lite..they are build tough and to last. My wife loves it also...so comfortable with everything you need to live extended off grid as long as your water holds up. I up graded this last year with lithium batteries and it was a great move...no more worrying about running your batteries down below 50% plus lighter and way more power. Highly recommend these campers...oh and they hold their value...which is nice also.

I looked at the Northern Lites and Bigfoots. Both are really nice, but I didn't catch how the Northern Lite won him over the Bigfoot. The authorized dealer for both manufacturers in my area is sketchy and the owner is a creep so I didn't go that route. I may end up looking in another state or even go up to Canada when it is safe to travel. I also wanted to check out the Safari Condo van conversions. Also, the mattress underlay is called a hypervent. :-) Great tour! Nice guy!

This is making me reconsider. I have never liked the looks of a truck camper. But I want to be able to 4x4 in difficult places. This may be what allows me to do that. Hmmmm. Considering. Wondering what the best well build truck camper companies are? Amazing what they can fit in such a small space. I would love to see one that has been remodeled:) Especially if it has been made more 4 season. Clear elbow for black/grey tanks sounds great. I am normally a bucket user myself. I want to be able to boondock, so am not really interested in hookups, TV, etc, but this was very informative. Wondering if I could make it all electric with 2nd alternator and lithium batteries.

I have my 8-11 on 2020 F 350 single rear wheel with new 7.3 L gas engine. Payload of 4072 lbs. Gas engines are lighter than diesels hence more available payload in most trucks.

Funny my wife and I started out tenting, then got a travel trailer, then got a big 2017 F350 PSD DRW (cargo capacity 5,750 lbs) and a giant 5th wheel, then down sized to a old Lance 1030, We will be getting a Northern Light as the old Lance getting close to end of life (or a nice project for someone) Love the go anywhere feel of the truck camper! Installed the nice Torklift Talon tie down system with Talon Fast guns. Northern Light is the best of the best if you don't want a slide which we don't.

That is great my friend you thought of it right most people who do van live in live at their Bank part-time full-time or weekend 10 to put microwaves in advance I don't know what they thinking a microwave with burn your battery out within seconds.. call microwave is a bad idea..

I'm a travel nurse on my 3rd covid assignment in NYC and - years in the making - just got my first fully converted van 🤸🏾‍♀️ Just got back from picking her up in Florida and I'm looking for a handy-person / build company that could help me do some isolated projects on her (cabinets in kitchen, vertical closet, etc). One of your subs recommended I reach out to you to see if you knew of anyone, or had suggestions of where else to look. Could be NY, NJ. I'm here for another 10 wks at least. Let me know!
