Very cool! You've given me a good few things to think about when building out my own home (current lab) system. It's worth keeping a saved search for eBay listings - I've got C6000's, readers, 8H modules etc for quite cheap from overseas. I'd be keen to hear more about how the system is integrated with Home Assistant. I have REST Events and Cardholders licenses on my home system but it's very expensive to add the others which it looks like I might need to get more integrations in place :(

Thanks for watching, eBay is great for picking up goods deals! not that common for listings to pop up though. In order to fully intergrade with home assistant You will also need REST Status and REST Overrides added to your license. my friend has built a custom integration for home assistant so all you have to do is download the custom repository and link the API with home assistant. @@FireAlarmNZ Cool - thanks for the info! How did you manage to get the REST Api licenses? Is it a perk of being a channel partner? I think I might have sold you the fence controller earlier this year. It would have been good fun to put into service but I couldn't really justify it for residential use :P

Wow thanks for the tour and explanation, we have the Gallagher system at my work but its looked after by another team. I see the Gallagher 6000 controllers you showed for sale on ebay, would it be possible for me to setup something like this at home if i can get the parts or would i need licences, support and so on?

She really loves sitting on my laptop haha, SALTO is really nice and is natively supported by Gallagher. I was considering getting a gateway and wireless door lock but the idea of changing batteries makes me uneasy.

@@FireAlarmNZ aw cute! Oh really? I didn't know that it was supported. Yeah the battery changing is annoying, had a doors battery in a school need replacing every 3-4 weeks :/ - very annoying I've been looking at doing Unifi access for home though, seems like an interesting concept!

Man looks awesome, installed a new security system in our company's office last week although its an arrowhead system (peasant I know 😂) would've looked at one of those if I had the time. Can't imagine that system come cheap though? Love the little safe btw.

Nothing wrong with arrowhead! I really like the elite S series. The Gallagher commercial 6000 prices are slightly on the costly side compared to an entry level system but they have since released the SMB line up which is much more cost effective.

I am concerned that the Mag Lock and sliding Auto doors do not appear to have Emergency Door Release switches associated with them. Mag clamps will hold locked down to about 8vdc ie long after the Gallagher (or any other) controller has stopped. Whilst I appreciate that you have interfaced the Fire alarm into the system so should drop the power to the locks (I would hope you have not relied on a software power release). In its current state I don't think this installation would comply with the NZ Building Code for Means of Escape.

How was the ease of configuring this system? I've looked at the Gallagher/Cardax platform before and it looked incredibly complicated. Can they be configured without needing to call a Gallagher servicer? Also, what is that piezo siren you're using on the system that activates during the security portion?

Nah that's long gone, I put in a Concept 3K system not long after making those videos. the Gemini was really nice though and was super easy to get up and running.
