My mother was from Britt Iowa which is just up the road. She used to dance at the surf during World War II with the servicemen. I had the honor of dancing with her back in the 1980s at the surf.

We love RV Trip Wizard! Use it for all our planning!! Agree with Joel and we always use a secondary GPS because sometimes Trip Wizard gets a little weird on the road..... "Bye Bye Miss American Pie...."

Smokey D’s is a good place to eat. I remember Ron Kramer from Pella, he had his own helicopter he took out once in a while. Also owned a Motorcycle shop years ago..Great video !

Great video we are big planners usually 6 to 9 months in advance but we have been with harvest host for 6 years and are nice for fillers and some last minutes on occasion. That time in Iowa was amazing it is really up my alley. I know all those artist very well I know all the songs and movies. I am.wondering if they were marking the first top singles each of them had maybe. I loved all those songs and couldn't narrow it down but I loved the uniqueness of Buddy Holly's True Love ways of course Labamba was a blast and I know the song very well but his story behind Oh Donna and the fact he wrote it was wonderful for a young man I agree with you on the Big bopper for sure. We will visit all the places you did in Iowa for sure thanks for the tour. This video was informative and entertaining great job!

Thanks... Similar planning process for us (we use RV Trip Wizard and Google Maps as well as our Garmin RV GPS) and we also prefer NPS, NFS, CoE, State, County and City parks. If you would save your Google Map to the My Maps function, you can keep your itinerary for future edits and documenting the trip. I add a marker for each reservation. I place the marker exactly on our site while reviewing the park access and road layout. I then add another layer with point to point navigation to compare to RVTW and the Garmin. Another layer is for planning and documenting attractions and points of interests and activities. I have one of these for each RV trip and an overall master one incorporating all travels.

@@ChasingOurSunshine You just need to be signed in to Google. Your maps are stored in your free Drive space. You can export\import from map to map. You can also export from RVTW and import into a My Map but I typically just create from scratch. If you want to experiment, you can export one of your RVTW archived trips and import into a fresh My Map. Have fun neerding out Joel.

@@ChasingOurSunshine Also, if you start using this feature, consider your choice of marker icons and colors as well as layers. I use the RV icon for a site stay with hook-ups and a Camping (tent) icon for dry camping\boondocking except for lotdocking which I use a Car icon. I color code tor vendor type ; brown for federal lands (NPS, NFS, NFW, BLM etc._) , red for CoE and I use the Historical Building icon (looks like CoE logo), blue for state lands (state parks and forests and other state lands), silver for local government lands (regional, county and city), and orange for commercial parks and resorts. For all free sites, no matter the provider, I color green. I also use a purplish color for NGO or other non-commercial organizations like utility owned parks. In addition, we often utilize casino campgrounds as journey stops for which I use the Gambling (dice) icon. For activities and sites, they are a separate layer and color and utilize whichever icon better represents the activity with the Viewpoint (binoculars) icon representing most sites. Have fun...

My wife and I have stayed at Oasis State Park site #29 and loved every minute of it. We recommend the Sonic in Portales and the Chinese restaurant as well. We subscribed to your channel. We love your positive attitudes about RV life. We still in the dream stage of getting a cargo trailer for conversion after the economy straightens up. Stay safe while traveling.

That happened to us a few years ago. The worst part was it was in FL. Our next park was able to get us in for a few days leading up to our stay. They put us on a different site till ours came available for our reservation. It all worked out but holy cow that sent me into a panic.

Great topic for a video. Enjoyed hearing what y’all do to plan. Cause you know Bill-his plan is to have no plan so I’m living vicariously through y’all. I’m sure if we stayed at a location for a month or more we would plan more. Too bad you guys were there right after Lynn and Danny so y’all missed ‘em. 😂❤ We had a cancellation once. Jim Hogg in Georgetown canceled on us due to construction. Luckily, there were other options.

LOL You need to add in Quartzsite a couple of times during the season. It is getting close for them to put up the "BIG TENT". Something else, Plan on going to FMCA’s 108th International Convention & RV Expo in Tucson, Arizona. We will be there March 20-23, 2024, at the Pima County Fairgrounds for the “Fiesta Del Sol” convention. @@ChasingOurSunshine
