to state the obvious---absof--ckingly amazing. Yenko and Motion Performance used to build "supercars" the factory would not. Watching the variety of videos, you guys are certainly carrying that torch into this century.

Nice car & good attention to detail, and I get it....he wants stock look and all. But all that for 9s or 10.70s...? Seems like a Lotta work for not much speed. That car will go 10.7 stock on slicks

Hi Tom. I don't see any F-Bodies? I would like to do something like this with my 99 but challenged with engine bay space and the lack of traction. Your new manifolds seems like a tight fit to having a new hood. Seems like the cost would be over the top...

@@montneymon-ta-knee6810 depends what country you in I'm in Australia I'm looking at 40k at least for twin turbo set up also you need to change trans better brakes roll cage custom work as I said if you can do it yourself it's cheap but if your paying a workshop they wouldn't do it to less

I loved everything but the only thing I would change is get rid of the back seats and put some subs back there I know it’s a race car but you got the damn roll cage going through the backseat making it useless anyways and the weight won’t change either you’ll just have a better audio system now lol

I didn't realize that the 5th gen was that heavy! Did you say 4700lbs? My 6th Gen SS is nearly 3700lbs, and that to me is borderline obese and unworthy of high dollar speed bits. I'm sure that cage added some weight and the beefy rear end, but that just seems to be a lot more than I expected. All that aside, your build sounds absolutely amazing and 1K HP is a ridiculous number for a SKREET car. I'm not a drag racer Guy thank God because Lord knows how expensive that can become, as well as challenging, but I think it would be a much better angle if you are wanting to build a street sleeper to start with something much lighter to begin with. I know that most folks using the Camaro 6th Gen these days are starting with the base LT1 because it's about 300lbs lighter than the SS models above it. There's still a couple hundred pounds that can be torn out of the car after that, so I would say that a Guy could potentially start with a LT1 Camaro down around 3100-3200lbs dry and empty, which is pretty good for these days. Hell, my 19 Veloster N manual was 3k pounds unloaded and it's a sub compact!! All the safety equipment and shit packed into the modern car these days make it nearly impossible to get under 3k. The only cars that come to mind that may be that light are the 86 and Miata, and of course both of those are sporting NA 4 poppers, so they are harmless on the strip unless someone drops an LS in it 😂😂. Honestly the current LT1 is probably the best thing in a street car to start with I'd imagine. I know it's not as parts Rich as the old LS motor in the older Camaro, but it's a more powerful engine from the start and still has a ton of potential for someone who knows WTF they are doing. My car is directed at corners and track driving, so I went with the SS1 1LE. Other than opening it up a little bit with the intake and exhaust, I don't intend to do any forced induction, CAM or other radical power enhancements that may sacrifice liveability or durability, as I intend to use it just about daily. Honestly I must be a lame ass, because I just don't see the point of having that much power and then daily it. Where in god's name is a guy able to use all that power without jeopardizing society and their own life 🤪. Hell, I rarely get to stretch the legs on my car and I live in the country 😂

oh yeah, that curb weight is incredible. A disco era Trans Am, fully optioned, approached 4,000 lbs with a 220 hp 400 cid if it was lucky. but its why hopping up a 1990's car is so fun--they were light for fuel economy, and if you know how to get 500 hp out of 'em or you do a modern engine swap, then you're got a brutal beast on your hands--and no ABS or traction control to save your life. no wonder there's so many videos online of kids crashing a Fox Mustang that turned high 14's. shows us how poorly we really get trained to drive, and a modern car matching that 225 hp probably doesn't end up around a lamppost like a 1960's muscle car in the rain due to the modern nanny computer installed inside it.

The .5 seconds is because the car is traction limited, no that's wrong, SEVERELY traction limited as is the ZL1. Suspension work solely for the drag strip and massive slicks (tubbing) would drop it into the 8's.

Stock ZL1 doesn't run 11.1 especially 5th gen! A stock 5th gen ZL1 with slicks is a 12.0 car at best! A stock 6th gen ZL1 is 11.1 at best with slicks and good air and 124 mph
